Yeah, you should have tried a Cesna then maybe a Gulfstream. And, maybe changing cars around a bit would have worked too - Yugo, Geo, Kia, then maybe a Hummer.
Rigorous testing - that's what we want - the 24 of myth busting. Show us all 6 months of that moss myth.
All kidding aside, rigorous test just doesn't make for good TV most of the time. Thanks for just showing us the highlights.
You guys have such enviable jobs. I can't imagine having a more interesting and exciting use of time (and to get paid for it too!!). In fact, I'm sure most of the SlashDot reading public wouldn't mind busting one myth or another especially in front of such a huge audience. (not to mention blowing stuff up)
But, let's get to the question. When you were younger, still in the early years of school, what did you guys want to do when you grew up?
No, but they're sueing, claiming that the Architect, and therefore The Matrix, contains millions of lines of SCO code. (has SCO ever written any code?)
I know we don't consider the primary purpose of the blaster worms as being to take down networks. Regardless, there were many networks disabled, taken down purposely to stem the flow, or just slowed to a crawl. Seems to me that Windows vulnerabilities are far more powerful and prolific than those of linux.
Let's also not forget that Windows NT marked the advent of the ignorant sysadmin. MS made it so that any yahoo willing to purchase a pc and their server software could put up their own server in very little time with very little knowledge. They literally blazed the trail for security education to those that really didn't care. Linux distros have learned from that and tightened their base security a great deal from the very early Slackware distibutions that required the enthusiast to configure everything. (where I broke my teeth)
I'd say linux has come a long way. It's broken into a new area- the ignorant sysadmin (that wants to lower the bottom line). Truth is: you can't enter this arena without doing some work and without being conscientious of your environment.

One word to my correctors: research. You could have at least found some reference proving your point. My apologies for getting it wrong in the first place.

Sorry to pick at the nitty gritty. But, the 'Borg Queen' on Voyager is not played by the same actress as the one on First Contact. Alice Krieg played the one on First Contact. Susanna Thompson played the one on Voyager.
Here are a couple of URLs that might help:
I know that statement is probably no surprise to most of/. . But, I've had it for an hour. It froze the machine (windows, sorry) twice on install and has died a couple of times. It seems no better than PR3. And, the ftp server for importing themes seems to be down.
They're going to have to improve it a great deal for me to switch over 100%. I have a major problem with the missing LDAP capability. And, having IM tied to the browser means that I sign off of IM every time Netscape dies. They've got to separate email, IM and the browser into separate engines to fight- even IE's done that.
Sorry for being so down on them. But, I was expecting the new release to be the savior of the free world.;-) -John.

Sweden to California? Just how have they routed this new Internet?
We really won't know, will we? ....at least until the prequels come out...

Welcome to the mainstream!

The IMDB link does not yet have the series finale of Voyager. Incidently, Susanna Thompson played a Trill in one episode of DS9.http://us.imdb.com/Name?Thompson,+Susanna

We're coming surprisingly close to this. So, I thought I'd offer it up. If I'd done it a week ago, it'd probably be a shoe in.

Psychic Shopping network
You get within 3 pixels of the icon of your desired item and it magically hops in the shopping cart. No need to check out- just close your browser.
Spinoff: The Psychic Advertisers Network- the banner ads act the same way as the item icons above.
One variation: You visit a site and your cart automatically gets loaded up.
The vendors ought to love this concept. But, Amazon keep your hands off- this patent is mine.
