Totally OT, but I agree with parent. I was up there on business a month ago and I've never seen so many panhandlers in my life. And I'm from Philly, so that's saying something. The ByWard market looked neat, but why are all the chicks still so into Goth? That's so late 90's.
I was wondering the same thing. I can't see Apple running away from ATI just yet, but them moving to AMD is very unlikely as Intel has some integrated DRM stuff (Viiv) that Apple (AFAIK) is shooting for.
I think a lot of the problem is that corporations are using offshoring as a way to dodge the worker and environmental protections we have in the US and Europe.
And why is that a problem? Those policies are the will of the people? Nobody is yelling at China or Russia to sign Kyoto despite their huge share of the production pie.
Well put. Tough to argue with that logic. (And folks wonder why liberalism is dead.)
Perhaps we should go back to the Clinton model where Intelligence agencies and Law enforcement didn't share infomration, aka the Gorelick Wall, like it was pre-9/11. I know I would feel safer with my rights protected like that.
Geez. And so many of us thought compulsory taxation under Wilson and legally mandated payroll deductions under FDR were the start of that. Still others point to the Whiskey Rebellion and the rise of Federalism.
BTW, what 'rights' are being revoked? Do you think being on an international call during a time of war should somehow be protected from surveillance? I'm tempted to ask, "What are you saying on your calls anyway?" but that will set the slashbots off.
Yeah, I don't want no-knock laws and all that other garbage, but I have NEVER assumed electronic communication was secure and I'm shocked that so many on/. seem to have this assumption that it should be. Doesn't anyone work on corporate email systems?
My story with Ubuntu 6.06 and an ATI Radeon 9200. I could care less if later ATI cards work better. In fact, I'm typing this on a VAIO I just converted for a friend and the mobility Radeon 9700 is freaking sweet. However, if a company fails to support their product adequately, it makes me very wary in the future. "Some of the time" don't cut it. Glad it works for you.
If you have a 2003 server, just flip on Windows SharePoint Services. Each project gets their own site. You can store all your data on the site and then muck with it as you like. Create your own lists/web parts/whatever.
Atheism has proven far more deadly, quite honestly. Far worse than any theocratic purges, although Islam certainly wants to pick up the mantel. But your primary thrust, that despotism is evil regardless of its ideological underpinnings, is true.
And yet they're not actually the 'sender', are they? It's not originating from their domain (in this example, hotmail.com), is it? So it would be falsifying headers.
With SharePoint 2007 there should be tighter integration as well and it will cover ALL of these requests. I admit SP doesn't look like much now, but as you dig and see the Object Model, how it can be integrated into user environments, workspaces, audiences, etc. - it's quite powerful. No, I'm not blindly pro-MicroSoft and they've still got a long way to go (apparently SP07 slices bread, too) it's just that I can see how MicroSoft is going and it's going to clean Linuxes clock for collaboration. Coincidentally this will happen just as Linux is finally ready for the desktop.
He only said she was his fiance, not that he got laid. Big difference, especially where geeks are concerned. Double especially when they use Google Earth instead of maps.google.com.
Do you think he can figure out what hole his adapter goes into?
They have a console that does all that. It's call a Mac mini. It has DVI output. All you need is a fancy USB 2 or FireWire controller and you would be set. In fact, once I opened the box, it was one of the first things I thought.
Even then you're still subject to VBA rounding issues which even most programmers are woefully ignorant of. I mean locking cells is nice. Understanding the functions you're using is even more important.
You're an idiot. When I had my second daughter, nobody came to my door and ordered her executed, as they do in China. I can freely change jobs without getting authorization from the central party. Likewise with medical care. Also, whatever I earn, I get to keep and use as I please.
I know in your coffeeshop mentality that equates to 'fascism', but you should bone up on history and read about what real fascist states are like for those that live in them. Take a look at the folks who are modifying 1950's era cars into boats to try and escape Castro's wonderland.
Here's something, google falun dafa. Heck, download some exercises. Read up on it. And know that if you did so in China - you would either be imprisoned or killed. See the difference?
As for 'their notion of property', you would do well to read this vignette.
China will borrow our worst policies, including DCMA-style anti-circumvention nonsense.
If you think that's the worst thing going on in China, then you've got your head up your arse. I wouldn't consider it 'freedom lost' since that would imply there was a freedom to lose. China is just coming to grips with notions of Property (the 'P' in 'IP'.) They are Communist, remember?

It is still beta, right?
Unless it integrates cleanly with SharePoint, it ain't killing squat in the corporate environment.

Sadly, the world may never know.
Besides, I don't know any self-respecting Linux geek who has ATI on the short list for their next card.
Unless they like playing Armagetron Advanced in flatland.

'm off to take a shower in Jeyes Fluid. (Lysol for you US folks).
Thanks for clearing that up. Before I read the parenthetical, I was thinking about how perverted all you Brits are...

You can just say they have a lower viscosity and we'll know what you mean.
