I really think that this is the future for humanity.
Think about the applications...
You could fight any virus/germ that you could identify.
Three words: Cure for cancer
Clinical immortality, live as long as you want (and want as long as you live).
And the point that would sell it to the yuppies of the world: Eat whatever food you want. Abuse your body with substances (alcohol, cigarettes, whatever), and not have to deal with the long term defects...
And that's only the tip of the iceberg.
Don't get me wrong, I won't be lining up to be a beta tester or anything, but this concept rocks. -
Gee, we used to watch Highlander... every day... starting around supper.
"Nice to see you again Mcleod"..."Nice to see...[Thwonk]"
Then there was the Star Wars Drinking game... You better hope that you don't draw Luke's name... start of A New Hope... "Luke? Luke? Where's Luke? Have you seen Luke? Luke?"

This is kinda suspicious... everytime something "interesting" is posted on eBay... they take it down completely... like that web-site selling for $3 million...
Do you think eBay is quietly trying to curtail these activities?
MS makes a product full of exploits to give you headaches. MS makes a product that invades your privacy and allows you to be tracked.
But you take those two wrongs and make a right by being able to track the exploiter? This is just ludicrous... here's a slogan to go with that "Our maliciousness protects you from our lack of quality!"
That's like when someone breaks into your house, but doesn't find the truly valuable stuff because it's such a mess... Oh wait... that's the MS security model - security through obscurity. -
Don't go Eric!

The Price is a little steep for my liking...

-
Because PHBs think that this is the easy and good way to go.
.asp pages linked to MS-SQL all day... for a living... and get paid very well for it...
In fact I sit 10 feet from developers that code
That doesn't make it suck any less...
-
Aww man... if they were going to do this, at least they could've done it right.

I love apache... I'm running it on at least 10 systems... (some even public... some personal, some for work)
Load balances really well with the Linux Virtual server project.
-
I read today that someone has registered the .org .net and .com of trenchcoatmafia to prevent them from being exploited for commercial purposes.
He even turned down an offer for $20,000 for one of the domains...
-
"Slashdot gets to pay the bandwidth bill again this month"...
I've been quoted your ad rates... you can't be that hurting, man... (10 million impressions a month... at $15 CPM)
-
I know Comdex/Toronto attendance is free...
-
Yeah... I only found out about /. a year or so ago...
I come for the news... but if actually want to know something I go to my local LDP mirror.
-
Yeah, everyone has a site these days... and that can be a good thing... (Heck even I have a site that has some Linux content.)
But think about how many sites there are out there dedicated to MS products... yuck. Can you imagine being a borg groupie?
-
Isn't the hard copy version a week behind?
-
A) It's in the middle of nowhere.
B) It costs millions of dollars.
C) It doesn't come with connectivity.
D) It's surrounded by (gasp) nautre.
It sound more like something for Ted Kazinski (sp?) of Unibomber fame...
-
I object to that wording on so many levels... and not even one of the reasons is religious...
-
So let me get this straight...

CLUE (Canadian Linux Users Exchange) and a few of the Ontario Linux users groups will be at Comdex Toronto in July...
:)
I just work 2 blocks away from Skydome now... I can walk to it.

...preferably on-line.
