  1. Re:Neither.... on Sony Presentation Reveals Further PSP Details · · Score: 1

To be honest I didn't really think you worked for either - its just that the troll seems to be under the impression that the only people with bad things to say about Sony simply /must/ be owners of a different console. Even without any Sony contacts myself its exactly what every market analyst (and indeed Sony's last profits statement) have been saying for a while now.

Quoth the Troll "You must work for Nintendo".

More probably Matsushita is the rather obvious reply to that one, as the original poster was mainly pointing out that Sony's delay at jumping on the flatscreen bandwagon has hurt them, rather than denying the rather obvious fact that the PS2 division is supporting the rest of the corporation currently.

Exemption from the law isn't even a new thing for these people; this does after all come on the back of the "go on, let us kill every box we suspect of having copies on" request. Exemption from other boring laws, like those stopping them from just firebombing those nasty piracy enablers like Frys and Staples who supply all the equipment required to write a CDR can't be too far behind, surely?

Apart from having more memory than some (but not all), its of the same order of power as the rest of the Symbian phones out there. It may be quite cheap as Symbian phones go, but its not unique, as the fact that it'll run Sonic N, Tomb Raider etc. demonstrates.

  10. Re:No Soul Calibur? on Must-Have Games For The Dreamcast? · · Score: 1

Several people have told me they prefer Soul Calibur over SC2, but I'd have to say I disagree. While the original is the only way you'll ever play it using the official Dreamcast Arcade Stick (officially the best stick ever released), the Hori, SC2 sticks are pretty darn close, and the 1-player quest mode is rather more interesting on 2 than 1.

I'm glad I own all 3 'Soul' games, though; its definitely my favorite fighter series.

I don't care whether they want to speak French or not, and have little against the populace at large. I just hate their annoying government, that insist on every DVD case being ruined by having bilingual text on it. It looks horrible. Just English would be fine and dandy. I'd put up with just French (or, rather just the 'French' that they speak, rather than the correct language by that name), but both looks horrible.

If I'm already driving faster than is legal to do so (something I'm not massively comfortable doing, but I don't push my luck), am I really driving slow enough to be a problem for you?

  16. Aaargh! No! on Nintendo Translator On Miyamoto, Mr. Resetti · · Score: 1

Dear God I detest Mr. Resetti.

For those that don't know, he pops up on Animal Crossing to tell you not to reset your Gamecube without saving your progress, as its deemed to be cheating; i.e. avoiding saving your mistakes if you have a bad day in the game.

This is all well and good in theory, but of the three times I've been told of, in a long, unskippable diatribe each time, its because the box crashed. Its bad enough to hit bugs at the best of times. Having the game accuse you of being a cheat because it messed up is a hundred times worse.

Acutally, my biggest use for this at the moment is having the game running on the XBox, and the PC doing all the other stuff alongside, which works really well; you can see where your mates are without having the distracting "Friend request" bit pop up when you're halfway through a round of something, and even know what is happening when playing an offline game because no-one is around when you start.

You're correct that you don't need a screwdriver, but you do need to remind it of the time (UK phones don't remember the time when you remove the battery, nor do they take time from the network), and spend the best part of a minute or two while you wait for it to boot, handshake with the network again, drill through three levels of menu to the game, and then wait for the game to load from MMC.

Seriously more annoying than just using a GBA, particularly when both a GBA SP and an 8210 together take up about the same pocket space as this monstrosity.
