Black and white or grey UI is usually Google's apps. Windows is nicely colored, on the desktop as well as on the phone. They are the one who started the flat craze though.
I actually don't understand what the problem is. Windows looks fine to me from 1200x800 all the way to 2K. What is the problem exactly? Chrome can show more tabs, you can have crisper wallpapers and everything is so nice!

Why is this a problem? Research should always be done, however ridiculous your hypothesis may be. The freedom to do such insane research is what has made USA the leader of all sciences.
I don't know enough about the specific circumstances in which both these people invented their respective devices, but I think there can be a scenario where the inventor of the base invention does not get the prize but the inventor of an improvement does. For example, maybe when Holonyak invented the LED, various technologies had reached a point where anybody in his position would inevitably make an LED. But, maybe the inventors of the blue LED did a huge amount of original research and invented a device well ahead of its time. Of course all this might be bullshit and Holonyak might be right.
This is right. It feels unnatural, and fucks up my entire flow. It induces the same feeling you get when you use Windows 8, only much more intense. It makes me uncomfortable and I don't care how shiny/user-friendly it is or why or why not.

This is wrong. Samsung supports its S series devices (S2, S3, S4, etc) for a looooooong time. S2 got updates till KitKat. And with every update it got faster, not slower. They even back ported some of the features they introduced on later devices (Smart Stay, etc).
Nexus devices have guaranteed updates (on the same day of announcement, too) for 18 months. The new Android One handsets also have guaranteed updates. It should be noted that these updates are from Google so they are very quick and very frequent, sometimes to the brink of annoyance.
Tesla is selling $100k cars, while other battery factories make batteries for $100 phones and $500 laptops. Maybe it is too expensive for them to set up a fully renewable process.
They probably use the phone numbers in the address book and see if the users of phones with those numbers are online. This is probably the most non-invasive ways to do this.
I really want to install XPrivacy but it requires Xposed. And I have had a really bad experience with Xposed. It literally burns through my battery sometimes. Specially on boot, like 90% to 70% in a couple of minutes, plus burning my hand. The tragedy is that so many Xposed modules are so incredibly useful.
Even when I connect my bluetooth keyboard to my nexus 7, the apps themselves are under-featured. Microsoft Office is light-years ahead. Suppose you want to make a spreadsheet with names of all months. In Excel, you can type "January" and drag to autofill. I could not do this in any android or iOS app. I tried a lot. Even if it is possible, it is very hard to find out how to do it. PS: On Android, Polaris is much better than Google's own Office-clones (whatever they are calling them this month). I got the pro version bundled with my S4.

If Windows 10 is running slow, your setup is *really* old. For particularly large values of old.
It is exclusively nuclear, AFAIK. No conventional warheads. Also, the navigation uses IRNSS exclusively (apart from inertial).
