"Losing weight isn't really that hard.....avoid deep-fried butter and stick to a low-sodium diet"
That's actually not that easy to do here. I can't think of any place that sells a decently healthy meal at a reasonable cost. Hell, even shopping healthy in a grocery store is hard sometimes!
I grew up in a rural area so 24kbs was all we had, and this is STILL the only option my parents have other that crappy satellite for $60/mo. Ten years ago 24kbs was OK for general web browsing but in the days of Web 2.0 checking my gmail from my folks is a 20 minute process. The only people bitching about not providing broadband are those who already have it. Turn off your internet for a week and see how much you've taken it for granted. I do this every so often when I go back home for holidays, and let me tell you: having no internet access whatsoever totally sucks!
I am all for nation wide broadband access because in the long run we are all benefit. You see, high speed internet gives people something amazing which is the collective knowledge of the world. Americans, as a whole, are dumb compared to the rest of the world. Think of all those backwoods country folk living in the sticks: reading, spelling, grammar, or any of the various topics of interest on Wikipedia will have a positive affect on anyone.
Give these people broadband and strengthen the collective minds of this nation so we have have a cooler future. I want my flying cars, DAMMIT!
Yes! This right here is the next step in the evolution of human ingenuity. Fascinating specious, aren't we?
All this time of worrying about outsourcing manufacturing to China, but soon we will be outsourcing to our own garages! Though, as history shows we will use this capability to find wondrous new ways to kill each other. Man the future freaks me out some times.
It does make since as a marketing plot. It's just more reason for someone to enter a McD's who ordinarily would not.
For example, I have an ipod touch. There are numerous times I've drove around in a different city where I had to keep a lookout for a Starbucks so I could use their wifi to look up an address on google maps. A few times I wound buying a cookie or something. Had they not had free wifi I would have never made those purchases.
See, it's people like you who were responsible for my high school cutting education programs and robbing us nerdy kids of a decent education. I grew up in a rural school district and the surrounding land owners (who's kids were already out of school) petitioned to have a few of the math and science programs removed in favor of lower property taxes. This lead to our really awesome math teacher becoming outraged and finding a job at a different school.
Yes, there are a lot of kids out there that won't go to college regardless and wind up having a repetitive job at what ever local factory. But for every 10 kids you might get 1 that is inspired to do well and become something and a better eduction only encourages this. We're trying to make our future society better.
Stop whining and pay your taxes. It's not our fault no one wants to help you reproduce.
I know this is a little off topic but seeing you refer to Scorched Earth, I thought of another similar game who's name has been lost to me in the sands of time.
The game is like Scorched Earth but 3D.
The map is round and has destructible terrain on it.
The players are colored dots, I believe.
Anyone know that name of that game?
Well, I wish they would start putting more of that can sugar in our food instead of the High Fruct-fuckin-fatass Corn Syrup!

"Uh... really? Are you kidding me? "
HAH!
They have to get across the Pacific Ocean first.
And how does the Chinese navy match up to that of the US?
BTW... What such proxy wars has China been in within the last 50 years?

I suppose any news organization other than Fox News will do...

His head has soft spot of a rotten apple.

If you want to try the effects of a vaporizer without having to throw down the money, try looking up "knife hits"
I find it amazing that not only has id's game engines been played on more platforms than any other, but is now being played by different species!
