Does the GBA come with a packaged game like the orginal GB did (Tetris), or do we have to buy one the day it is launched? As I have seen no info about any packaged games I can only presume that the later is true..
I never said there way any particular distributions of DeCSS, but if they did have a injunction against the Samba people then it would work pretty much the same way, with people distributing nay which way they can. (Did you read the link?) -
The thing is though people have been following samba for ages, so they cant pretty much tell if it is copied. You can also vouch that someone in Microsoft is watching the development of Samba, so the world would have known by now if someone has taken their code.
If you come across Micorsofts code you should treat it the same way you treat none OSS code with respect for peoples effort and intelectual rights (no mater how much you hate them, would you like it if some cam along, copied your software and sold it on as their own.
Also I think at the current moment with the nature of the OSS movement if legal action was taken against the project someone would carry on the project after it has had a injunction against it etc.. I mean just look at DeSSC code that has been distriuted so many ways. ie this -
From what I have heard, is that the new Mobile AMDs goble up power like nobodies business, I am not too sure about intel though, I have heard they are a fair bit better.
But Surely if Transmeta can live up to there claim that they have very low power processor, which use less power when not being used a lot, then they will be very competative, because what people want it to be able to run the handheld/laptop/notepad for hours and hours, not just 3
I still don't think he should of resorted to bashing the other developers of the Gnome the way he did, I think that is just wrong, both teams are in it for pushing forward the desktop market in linux. And that is one of the points more people are prefering to use linux, becuase of the choice they have. They can use Closed Source or Open Source, it is purley choice of preference.
To be honest, I don't think this editorial is very good, and should be taken note of, It is totally biased towards KDE, even though myself AM Biased towards the KDE as well, I just don't think this should be taken seriously, it just looks like some Good old FUD. All he really said was about the QT debate, and some other yap about infighting, I think he should argue about the relative merits of both and not about how developers argue with each, which lets face it happens on every product developers make, as they all want there project to be the best. -
I was with them at the start, but I cancelled it becasue the software was shite and fecked up my installation, I could never get on to, so they gave me a extra month FREE, but I decided to cancel, so they charged me for the extra free month... NO matter how much I complained they still insisted they were in the right.... THUS I will never go with telewest ever again, I am looking to change my phone line over to BT...
On another point there phones bill never have the correct numbers dialled on, and there digital TV is POOR, that is why I went with SKY digital
Before Everyone starts saying it is excellent value. REMEMBER that you have to use BT otherwise you can't use the free service, and you still have to pay for it:(.
I know this because I use Telewest and the Cabl;e i-net offer is pure rubish, but BTInternet, have a OK'ish offer for none BT users.
Well water is at it's denesest at approx 4 degrees Centigrade. Like one of the posters said it wouldn't make much diffence as water expands when below 4 degrees centigrade, as this is the case then if the water at the Artic( I think thats the N pole) melts then we may notice a slight decline in the water level, or none at all.
But if all the ice on land melts then this is when we will notice great changes in the sea level
I don't think you are quite correct there, the PSOne won't be as protable as you think, you will definetly need a external powersupply, as the CD drive, and processor would suck up the power like nobodys business.
The GBA on the other hand will "supposedly" run of 2 AA batteries for Aprrox 20 hours
Linux has a long way to go to being truly viable as a gaming platform. Just becasue one (or a few) video cards have good bench marks, doesn't mean that it is viable, to be viable there needs to be GOOD support from all vendors, who specifically target Linux as a gaming platform like they do to windows, not just one or two companies.
>
Most gamers don't have the latest hardware or the fastest as it is normally very expensive.
We need excellent support from all hardware manufacturers that have produced video cards over the last year or two. So that all linux users can enjoy a great gaming experience.
This is just the tip of the iceburg, we also need better support for mice, sound cards etc, I mean there is support for these, but not to the extent that they are great for gaming
I think Apache was Apache Longbow, and that wasn't voxel based. it was definetly comanche that was voxel based. I remember playing it on my dads 486 when I was a nipper....ahhh memories -
I have to raise some points of what you have said, people may not think they are valid, or infact they may not like them.
I think that cracking should be illegal full stop (but this would be hard to police accross the world). I also think there should be laws against attepmting to crack someones box, even if it is for curiosity.
Analogy Alert!!!!!
Think about it you leave your car in the street. Someone comes along and thinks, "I might be able to break into that, Even though I don't want to rob his wallet or the radio, let give it a try...No can't pick the lock, but I can put this brick though his window". You later come back to your car, you see that some one has tried to get in, the first thing you is to worry and check every thing is OK.
This is the same thing the sys admin will do, he will check his logs, see that some one has attempted to break into his system, he/she will then have to do alot of checks to make sure that no harm has been done, even if the person was just curious. The cracker has then essentially caused enough trouble, because they have wasted the admins time in forcing them to do the checks, possibly causing disrubtion to the end user.
Is this a bad thing or a good thing that they are stopping people from Overclocking there AMD's.
I mean it will mean extra income for AMD people who want the extra horsepower in the PC will have to pay for it, instead of getting it "for free".
But does the consumer want to be restricted to what they can and can't do with there product.
I mean we see this in lots of other products, like cars, (some) OS's. There philosphy is: "You wnat it better, then pay for it". so is it really that bad that AMD are doing this with there chips now?
From what I remember, they can identify bits in the DNA, by sampling identical twins/triplets etc. because they should be quite similiar, they can then compare the DNA and see which bits make us unique.
I am pretty sure that they use this technique as the basis of finding genetic disorders and hereditary disorders etc.
They are probably doing this "because they can", I seem to remember one of my friends at uni having a version of doom running on his palm. He said it ran like crap, but it was cool becasue he could actually get it.
And it looks like they are trying to instill the same geek factor that made my friend get doom. not that I mind of course:)
Cheers

If you wait for a bit I am sure Linux Emporium Will be able to get you a copy
-
i.e if they never release the watch, then the source doesn't have to be released, as no one is actually using it.
Am I correct in my thinking?

Just imagine how all those script kiddies would act when the time reached

why do you say that?

Sorry to hear you didn't think the same
