I was excited to try IE8. About 20 minutes after install and use I wasn't excited anymore. When I open a new tab my whole system slows down until its finished loading. I haven't looked at the CPU usage but i'd assume its pegging it for the render engine. Just a thought.
My latency in gaming online is already bad enough on my 5 meg cable. Ever try playing a driving game online. LOL. Disconnects and uber lag should be this services tag line. As mentioned in another post above, input lag time will also be a serious issue they will have to overcome. If they are streaming HD Video as the game, real time input will not exist.
I have a laptop, never shut it down. I restart it for Windows Updates before I leave for lunch if there are any pending. On a side note I do have a timed wake each morning to bring it out of sleep mode 15 minutes before I get to work so I never have to wait on it.
So the guy who said "lets build a p2p app to exchange files illegal and i'll advertise in it and make much profit" is telling us we need to find legitimate files and will be re-directed clients to purchasable media?
Hahahaahahahaha aaaaaahahahahahahahah
Sucker!
I remember my first web dev job. I got a 21' monitor replaced because my phone would make the screen shake when it was set to closely. (found that out later)
Phones have been emitting these death rays for years! Now because its an iPhone suddenly its newsworthy? Yikes!
I browsed to the Twine page mentioned in the summary and every single link on the page when clicked takes you to a blank white page. So much for a launch..:)
I can't get one either. I would have dropped sprint in a heartbeat to get a G1 on t-mobile. Last month when I read the announcement (gee i think i read it on/.) I quickly searched for the local t-mobile provider. None in my city! Dratz! Called the next nearest t-mobile store. He said they will sell it but theres no 3G here and the city I live in has no native towers so if I make too many "Roaming" calls they would just cancel my service after a month or two.:(
Along with the announcements for it, I did see some articles mentioning Sprint might have an HTC/Android unit for sale around christmas or just after. It will be a happy holidy if so!
Starting with Netscape 3.0 back in 95; I used it until IE had shown itself as a stronger browser. IE's rendering and loading was faster than Netscape for IE version 5. Since then and all my continued windows usage i've been reluctant to change based on habit or brainwashing. When I think about going to a web site or anything along those lines the first thing I think of is the "Blue E" with the yellow halo. Its just always been that way. Even since I installed chrome at home I checked it out and used it for 20 minutes. After closing it and coming back to the computer to browse the interwebs, i fell back into the "blue E" habit. Unless I make the google chrome browsers default icon the same as IE's I doubt i'll use anything else. I guess if some great feature came out that I couldn't live with out, was released it might be easier to switch.
I drive an angry looking BMW. I am from the lot of people that can barely afford my car and have it for its true driving prowess. I participate in track events, rallys and charity rides. Thanks for lumping me into your hatred by deliberately not letting me out.
Also, a good percentage of BMW's have daytime running lights and auto sensing head lamps. Either way on this your "not turning lights on thing" is a bit of a non-issue. Maybe its the Jags and Mercs you meant:)
Cheers!
