    stop repeating what your kiddy friends say on IRC dude... You obviously have no attempted to even download the latest gnome packages, because if you did, you would have installed them and realized that it is far from unstable...

    now if you were referring to the gnome libraries,bonobo, nautilus, etc,.. you may have point that there is some instability or Lacking of features.... yes, this is true to some degree (especially in nautilus since it hasn't even been released, and lacking of features in bonobo.. sure, its brand new though , what do you expect)..

    Think for yourself before you post.

    without the ratios, and a easy to use interface, copywrite's are basically null&void these days :-/

    Microsoft has apparently molested Kerberos in their latest W2K upgrade, can you clear up some of the confusion about how this will effect samba server->NT.

    I've heard their exploitation of the protocol wont effect samba, some say it wreaks havoc, whats the scoop ?

    I like Free BSD , but sometimes I wonder about it.. like some of the commands in Free BSD sometimes act a little whacky, but every operating system has its quirks, Free BSD is no exception.

    In my home I have two Free BSD boxes, one is basically a web server and the other does mail and ftp.. Free BSD has proven a good solution for my needs and i wouldn't give Free BSD up. GNU/Linux still fulfills my needs for a Great Workstation and dialup ppp server, all in all Linux and Free BSD are nice packages.

    the OpenNap server already has these features and its been available for quite some time now, there is even the flexibility to do porn searching just like the software in this story and iMesh (avi's, mpegs, au, etc). Opennap can be found Here. here is a list of the available napster clones excluding the one in the story.

    Why are there no debian packages ? Because Debian is in the Minority, and these guys dont have all the resources and time in the world... they are trying to grab the largest audience they can, and there are 100x as many machines running rpm as there are apt.

    Redhat, Suse, Mandrake, Caldera, Phat, LinuxOne Distro(thanx Jcouto, heh), plus remember that story a few weeks ago about linux at universities, Notice how 90% of the university distros were redhat based... it reduces the complexity a huge amount to upgrade 150 machines with rpm than .tar.gz (sure they could have used .deb)..

    .deb is not the right choice for Helix, probably never will be at this point in the game.

    i created a little script in my /usr/bin/
    directory called packmoz.

    [root@co425570-a /root]# cat /usr/bin/packmoz

    #!/bin/sh

    cd /home/robert/src/package/ && ./mozilla

    [root@co425570-a /root]# chmod +x packmoz

    just change the cd command to whatever directory

    you untarred it to..

    you may want to use this icon for mozilla,

    its more appropriate in my opinion

    I'm curious if anybody has good webpages or LUG urls that have setup projects for long distance wireless networks...

    A friend of mine, that lives just about 3.2 kilometers from my house, wants to setup a wireless network.. but is something like this feasible ? There are several buildings blocking the line-of-sight..

    Also, with the use of a directional attanae and reflecter, for greater gain, can the output power on these wireless cards be increased, say to 10 watts, 20 watts, or would I need special hardware for that ?
