Feel free to add if I missed something. It would, seriously, be interesting to have a list of all nonsense the trolls have come up with during these years.
That would be the "positioning industry." It is already worth billions and is estimated to give rise to hundred thousands of jobs in the next few years. I personally helped develop such software about a year ago. Almost all the biggies are into it. Here is Sweden one can already enjoy many of these services if signed up with the biggest cell phone operator (Telia).
Do a google ferchrissake. No need to bother Cerf with stuff you could ask any geek of the street.
Doesn't even makes sense on its own either, does it?
What about it, more precisely, does not make sense?
Why would [citing studies] matter?
Now you're making a fool out of yourself.
Studies are not absolute proofs!
Thanks for making my point. In social sciences you don't have "absolute proofs." This is exactly what people like you fail to grasp.
I can't speak for the original poster, but I was a healthy child "constantly viewing and engaging in virtual violence", as you put it, and it did not make me "more agressive".
Do you understand basic statistics? That you did not become more aggressive does in no way invalidate the thesis that a significant amount of the population may.
Parents making a decision, you just need to know one thing: Does your child easily descriminate between fantasy and reality?
Interesting that the world is always black and white on Slashdot.
If he/she can, then games aren't going to have a detrimental effect.
You just pulled this one out of your arse, didn't you? Or can you back it up somehow? Can you cite any studies? Why do you find it so obvious that healthy children might not become more aggressive by constantly viewing and engaging in virtual violence? You just say that "it's dumb," but for what reason we are never told.
It says a lot about the ability of most of the Slashdot crowd to grasp the complexity of any problem that isn't hard science that this comment was modded up.
Whad'ya expect from a land that kissed Hitler's ass untill the US had to go over there and save their butts once again.
Did you use the word "land" because you wasn't sure whether Europe was a country or continent? Funny, I always thought it was the US that ignored Hitler while the whole of Europe was at war, until they got spanked by Japan.
My daddy is a cop. And my dick is bigger than yours. Europe r00lz, the US sux0rz! Is the discussion on a low enough level for you yet?
I know you eat rattlesnakes for breakfast. I know you think good ol' W is a mean motherfucker. I know "Marge" is the most foreign sounding name you could come up with. I know you never finished high school because it sucked. I know you've been to Paris, Texas but never heard of Paris, France. I know all this, and it's fine with me, really.
Chinese surfers searching Google are finding their Internet connection dropped for five minutes if they enter "politically sensitive" keywords, such as the Chinese president's name!
I must read like one too. What I suppose is due to my inferior command of the English language, I am uncapable of understanding the following words, all from your three-line post: suprised, afore, therom, indead, increadible, favoure. Strangely, no dictionary seems to recognize them either.
If you were talking about the content of my post, rather than the spelling of it, I can do nothing but agree here either. It is clear to me know, having reread my post alongside the one I was commenting on, that his was the more researched and thought-through. Also, it is clear that the original poster has a sense of irony that I distinctively lack.
'Mr. Simonyi has left Microsoft with the right to use the intellectual property he developed and patented while working there.' He probably threathened to reveal some rather embarassing details about how Microsoft has abused it's market power if they didn't give it to him.
Yeah yeah, four legs good, two legs bad. I think you mistyped the URL, you really want to be here.
Why don't you Slashbots just shut the fuck up already? I'm not kidding, and I've got karma to burn. Everybody knows what you have to say even before the story is posted, and everybody knows you can't back up your outrageous claims.
And by the way, you spelled your nick wrong. Would you take a guy who in one sentence proposes a clearly agenda-driven and unverifiable hypothesis with zero arguments seriously if he can't even spell his own nick? Ask yourself that before posting the next time.
Feel free to add if I missed something. It would, seriously, be interesting to have a list of all nonsense the trolls have come up with during these years.

Like I said, feels like more...Sunlight and fresh air is good for you! I can't believe you didn't know that. Christ, some people...
Now, with that out of the way, let's discuss what it may be about eating other things than pizza that causes all these heart problems.
but here goes: shouldn't this be a Katz story?

Your ability to miss the point again and again is bordering on the unbelievable. Amusing, albeit in a very sad kind of way.
Some people... it boggles the mind.
What a nice wild unsupported claim! : )
You were not meant to take it literary.

yes, your comment was modded up too, that is sad.
Sometimes the truth hurts.
You're welcome!
Your email is still (probably) safe.
Bah! Boring people should stop encrypting things anyway.

They all do.
However, there's been others, like this one. I guess it isn't just black and white.
And I'm not talking about the game. =)
don'tchathink?
Hmm. Where have I seen that picture before?
Substitute "weren't" for "wasn't" in the first sentence (ignoring the quote) and it should be readable.

But please, keep it to yourself.
Read the caption below the little ribbon in the upper right corner: "What our enemies have begun, we will finish. 9.11.01".
This guy probably hasn't been outside Texas.
Not that I know wtf you're talking about tho.
I guess I deserved that.
Seriously, you'd get a big fucking cluster for $1 billion.
Btw, I got that from Faulty Dreamer on K5. But I don't know if he's the originator.

Information wants to be tied up and spanked.
You write like a moron.
