The video game industry lost me a while ago... all I play now is old SNES games (emulated, of course), Guitar Hero, and a few open-source strategy games.
Lower prices on the consoles does a lot for me. 400 bucks is hard to justify for an entertainment, when that's a semester's worth of books...:\
For all but the first two weeks of my senior year of high school, I kept my laptop with me at all times at school, and used linux programs to do fun things in my drafting class, like animation of house buildings. It was a 17" laptop, and I arrived early and left late; I carried 8 pounds around for the whole school day.
Then again, I did get used to carrying 50 pounds on one shoulder for 3 hours at a time...
I just finished reading Watchmen last night (And I must say, it was amazing and I wanna see the damn movie now!)
I've been slowly working my way through V for Vendetta, too.
I honestly don't care what country something is from. As far as graphic novels/comics/manga go, I like the story and the art style. It's nothing that is uniquely Japanese that draws me to read certain manga, it's the plot, the character development...
No, the senator pushing for this is the "family" party. The majority party, in order to get his support, decided to go with him on this... to my understanding, anyway...
I love survival horror games. Fatal Frame is amazing, although I can't play it long...
Same with Silent Hill 3. The Silent Hill games are a masterpiece, much more than Resident Evil. There's a *great* story, a theme, creative monsters, the environments are beautiful.
We're rejoicing that it's obviously going to die soon. Unless they've been touched by John Coffey, if a mouse lives till 40, they're gonna die. Soon. Like, now.
You have obviously never met a girl with a father who is addicted to cocaine, alcohol, tobacco, and narcotic pain killers... and smoke tobacco all the damn time...
Sigh...
I'm torn. I hate that he practically abandoned her, but, it's his life...
Actually, since I'm an economics major, I want to have a paper on this exact topic at some point:
All these programs, like health care, welfare (when used PROPERLY), education (up to and include university), have a HUGE economic impact on the US.
If we get the kind of return prison rehab programs get (1.70-3.50 dollars saved for every dollar spent), then we can VERY easily regain our edge by just investing PROPERLY in education.
We don't invest properly in education, i know, bizarre concept!

50 bucks is a lot easier to justify.
As a matter of fact, I did.

Burglar touches it, fries, starts screaming. There's your alarm.

The fewer countries we have trying this utter shit, the less likely other places are.
To the jackass who pushed for this: FUCK YOU. Go suck on Jesus' cock. We all know it's your secret fantasy, you fucking Christian nutter.
I gotta admit, that was hilarious.

Brother makes VERY good linux drivers as well.
Complicated?
How complicated can it be?
1) strip robot
2) lay robot down
3) insert penis
4) bang vigorously
5) wait for fake orgasm
6) thank robot and walk away
"even redesigning her to have a simulated orgasm."
Like ALL women! AMAZING!
So THAT'S why the present I sent to my girlfriend resulted in an e-mail from Amazon that the package was at the Post Office!
This explains a HELL of a lot... mostly, why Amazon said it was detained at the post office, but arrived at the door just about 20 minutes ago...
This is needs to get over it.
He appears to not understand that suing over this will only serve to legitimize the claims.
Not only that, being on the internet makes it no more damaging than a friend saying "That dunkin' donuts sucks, dude..."
And he just makes himself look like a total dick by doing this.
The thing is, if the owner just cleaned it up, he could use that as GREAT marketing.
But, instead, he chose to sue, so now he looks like a dick.
Oh, we care. We're nerds, we pay attention to lots of things. Saying that we don't care because this is a "tech" site is ignorant.
I got an e-mail alert from the wall street journal about this, and it's VERY interesting stuff...
We're rejoicing that it's obviously going to die soon. Unless they've been touched by John Coffey, if a mouse lives till 40, they're gonna die. Soon. Like, now.
An IRC buddy of mine was surfing Amazon and discovered the most disturbing thing.
You know how toward the bottom of the pages for items, it says "Those who bought this product also bought...?"
Yeah, my friend was looking at sex toys (for guys) and noticed that "Wrath of the Lich King" was #6 on the list...
You have obviously never met a girl with a father who is addicted to cocaine, alcohol, tobacco, and narcotic pain killers... and smoke tobacco all the damn time...

That's caused by the fact that the drugs are illegal.
Similar things happened when alcohol was prohibited.
Also, the op-ed piece was TWO articles - one in favor of drug prohibition, one against.
Yes, I am enough of a loser to get the Wall Street Journal for fun...
Because we punish people for poverty.
Oh, right, because wanting to eat that night is so fucking stupid...
You honestly think that, in america, being poor means you don't have luxuries?
Try not having water, electricty, food, heat, or half-decent clothes. THAT'S the *higher* end of being poor in this country.
Isn't that what already do? Distributed, rather than monolithic, spamming?
Anyway, it's not that surprising...
So do educated masses - they have more money to spend.
