I won't call bullshit either way, but here's my experience living at the edge of a small-medium sized city.
Before I got a digital, my rabbit ears w/ gain got 3 channels clearly (abc, nbc, cbs; fox was too snowed to enjoy, and wb and pbs were washed out with static). With digital, I have those 4 plus pbs and wb (some is digital channels only).
Analog channels: 2, 7, 22
Digital channels: 2 plus digital, 7 plus digital, 16 in digital, 22 plus digital, 26 in digital, 45 in digital.
While "PhD" is certainly a historical artifact, human thought isn't as broad a category as you make it out to be. Philosophy is how we think and perceive the way we are thinking and perceiving as paradoxical as it sounds. See recursion.
I forget, wasn't Sony working with NVidia to make their graphics chip... I guess NVidia just wanted to steal the spotlight to sell more PC graphics cards...
Being just another OS would remove that and would take a lot of tarnish off the corporate identity.
I think you mean polish; tarnish is the reason you polish metal.
PsyStar isn't trying to make MacOS just another OS, it's making MacOS-compatible computers so that it will install on them. Nobody is pushing Apple to support XXY Chinese Sh*t Graphics Adapters. Some people want MacOS without having to pay extra for the premium hardware.
Disclaimer: I never have and never will own an Apple PC, yes PC!
Not likely, people have been trained to believe that newer is better anyways, so why not just upgrade it all. It really only affects the people who can't afford to upgrade, but they're already trained to believe it's not really necessary to be up-to-date.
Let's hope that those lobbyists use the website as well, makes them easier to point out and potentially ignore. Of course, never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.
I brought the game to my reserve unit Christmas party... Nobody there, except for me and my wife, had played it before. Anyone who was on the fence about it is probably going end up getting it now. We would have ended up playing it all night, if we didn't have drill the next morning; and we would have played it at drill, if there wasn't a couple of stricter higher-ups.
Now that they can't charge $50 for a few dozen bricks...
Really only a few dozen? The sets I see at Wal-Mart, or anywhere else for that matter, are about 10 cents a block, so your $50 set typically has around 450-550 bricks, unless it came with a big/specialized part (no I'm not including the Mindstorms or Duplo). But what do I know, I have only ogled all the ones I don't have since I was 6.
Lego was to the European Court of Justice and were active in the fight against the Canadian competitor Mega Brands, which is a block on the market that fits that of Lego. The Court ruled today that the design of Lego is not protected by the trademark and that there should be no question of monopoly.
Then you need to be complaining to your local and state police forces, who are supposed to be handling this. It's not a monetary point where crimes become 'worse', it's the ease with which crimes can be committed. The FBI are called for bank robberies because it takes a great deal of sophistication and power to successfully rob a bank. And of course the FBI are never called to investigate something as ludicrous as some "serial killer" huh?
Besides, the rich are many times more likely to purchase additional safety and precautionary devices to protect their valuables. Have your millionaire friends park their Mercedes out on the street in downtown for the night. Unless there's a security alarm on the car... don't expect it to still be there.
I don't know why people steal from others that only make that much, but I do know that it happens and happens often. Heck, people steal bags from swimmers at the beach. And according to some, $60,000/yr is rich, $10,000 in easily accessible bank accounts is very rich. Why is Identity Theft/Fraud so important for everyone?
So you blame the war in Iraq on rich people wanting resources? What about Vietnam and Korea? Resources? Which rich people are wanting this? Are you saying that religious zeal and ideologies have nothing to do with war?
Evolution is based in science and scientific evidence.
Creationism is based on faith and religious dogma.
How can these be taught in the same class? Making theology a required course in our school systems is fine with me. It will show students how little they really know about other religions, if they can be bothered to pay attention in class...
Are you saying that those who make less than $100,000 have nothing worth being stolen? (Just a number)
Regardless of how much you make, do you have stuff you hold precious and endearing? Would you suffer because it was stolen?
For those with the larger amounts of money, do you believe that they rely on the policing forces of the federal government, which amounts to the military, coast guard, and intelligence agencies, to protect their assets?
If you want big brother government, then go to Britain, they seem to be heading that way. This country too, contrary to what some will tell you. I know that if this country's government doesn't recover soon, I'll have to go elsewhere.
This is the most reasonable comment I've read so far

FIRE!
I forget, wasn't Sony working with NVidia to make their graphics chip... I guess NVidia just wanted to steal the spotlight to sell more PC graphics cards...
Hooray, a sane comment.
What are you doing here?
This is Slashdot!
So will we finally find out if EULA's are enforceable in court?

Really the Dave and Buster's I went to near Ohio State University was nearly spotless
