Come on, we get these announcements every few weeks, but nobody ever delivers a product. This isn't even news for nerds, it is just vaporware. Wake me up when they create a product that I can actually buy.
She was the first person to realise you could use computers for other things than computing mathematical formulas, and that it should be programmable in a language resembling english. To realize that in that time must have taken an insane amount of insight. Many advances come from seeing a problem, and solving it. But she didn't really have problem to see! Everybody else thought she was crazy, that it could never be done. Computers performed mathematical calculations and were programmed using assembly or machine code! Where did she get those ideas?
It seems like top athletes will soon have another reason for possessing EPO, testosterone,THG,...;) Sick mothers-in-law or dogs that for some reason need EPO don't cut it anymore these days. "No sir, I only used it to brighten up my TV".
Apple also violates the European warranty laws, which impose a minimum 2 year warranty on every electronic device. In addition failures in the first 6 months are assumed to be production faults unless the manufacturer can prove otherwise. Try having a MacBook Pro fixed for a known issue when the serial number is not on the list of Apple.
That should be "right-click and wait a few seconds". And yes, I have a Mac. And not a slow one: 1.4GHz powerbook with 1.25GB of RAM. I still have to wait several seconds for that menu to show up.
The reason is quality. For the same price, the higher the resolution for a given surface, the lower the quality. Every laptop LCD looks like junk compared to my apple 20" cinema display (at work) or the equivalent dell LCD (at home). The compromise is accepted for laptops, but nobody would buy a higher-res with low quality, or a high quality model that is almost as expensive as a bigger monitor with the same resolution.
My Acer Travelmate has been in repair for a total of 6 months within the 2 years that I have it! 2 times 3 months. The incompetent service people broke it several times (they forgot to reattach the videocard cooling block twice! 2 mainboard toasted), and now they have made little scratches on my screen, which they refuse to fix.
Stay away from Acer!
That is because your mind plays tricks with you. In this case, the image you see outside contained more red than other colors. Your mind will compensate for this by adding the opposite color (on the color wheel) to the image. For red, the opposite color is green. Here's a link that contains much information about this.
Our department recently started using SPF, SID and grey-listing. The amount of SPAM I received went down from 40-50 mails a day to 4-5 a day, which are all dealt with by thunderbird.
I got rid of Nintendo advertisement spam by reporting it to Nintendo saying it damages their reputation. The 300 pound gorilla did not seem to like that practice:-) Within a day, that spam stopped coming in.
gcj does not give you maximum performance. My QR-decomposition code runs a lot faster on IBM and Sun virtual machines than compiled with gcj with maximum optimisation flags.

and my work time jumping through hoops to get shit done
You'd better spend some more money on your toilet. Mine just works.
Naur himself denies having invented BNF together with Backus. According to himself, it is the Backus Normal Form. Other people put his name in it.
He meant 16 bits per channel, which is 48 bits per pixel. GIMP can only use 8 bits per channel, resulting in 24 bits per pixel.

Oh come on! Nobody bashing Roland Piquepaille?!?! You disappoint me guys. You really disappoint me... ;)
In civilization II, I once beat a max. health battleship with 1 paratrooper in 1 turn. A bit less impressive, but not much I'd say :)
Not completely. My immune system rejects my own kidneys (Berger's disease).
Then I wouldn't have to buy any accessories!
;)
I think you've answered your own question

Sorry, couldn't resist :)
There are modules to add authentication to digital camera's. They could authenticate the image after blurring it. For example:
Canon Data Verification Kit DVK-E2
Epson's Image Authentication for digicams
It is "cheaper than", not "cheaper then". Only on slashdot does a Belgian reader teach English grammar to an American editor.
The microgenerator is about 10 millimeters wide, or about the size of a dime.
1cm will do just fine :p

... if the pixels only respond half of the time ?
Yeah, go ahead, make pyramid frauds more popular by advertising for them. Way to go !
