One other thing, Pork comes from both sides nearly equal. It may grow and shrink depending on the time but Pork is there. While not good it is something that has to be accepted. Fight for ways to limit it legally, but if you vote for someone that is promising or isn't using pork politics than you are only hurting your own party. The miserable failure that was line item veto was an attempt to get rid of pork, or at least it was sold that way. while a failure it was at least an attempt.
sorry it takes far more than 2 1/2 years to build up 8 years of down sizing of the military. Since the end of the First Gulf War, Clinton's military was shrunk by more than 40 percent. The first year Bush was in office he was unable to get anything done due to spite from the democrats turning down his proposals whether good or bad. 9/11 was the only thing that got Bush any support although I do agree it gave him too much support.
I am by no means a Bush supporter, I think he has done more to jeopardize my personal rights than most presidents have. I do not like the extreme conservative take over of the Republican party. This election has come down to a Which Ball do I want to be kicked in. There is no lesser of two evils. With the Democratic control I have to worry about losing my property rights, with the Republican control I have to worry about the loss my civil rights. I will vote Libertarian this year but hope Bush wins. I can always fight to get back civil rights, If my ranch burns down it is gone for ever.
Sure the military is unequiped and not ready for war, sure my home is in danger every year from forst fire due to huge land management cuts, but at least Clinton had a surplus!!!!
"And many more elderly people simply died of fright as Bush raised and lowered the national terror threat level and spoke on the dangers of terrorism over time."
Best plan to save Social Security I have heard so far.
Or, like most minimum wage jobs they will expect 3 times the productivity out of you. If they pay you $6 an hour to do what would be comfortably done at $2 an hour the diffrence is going to have to be made up. Some will be taken by raising prices, again screwing the person makeing minimum wage, some will be taken by profit margine, screwing the people doing the hireing, the lions share will be taken by slave driving the minimum wage person to 200% of what a resonably productive person should do.
What we have started doing was using netfilers and putting the dbs in hotbackup mode and snap shotting them. then do what ever kind of backups we need on the snapshot. Linux LVM now supports snapshot so I am looking into doing this locally as well.
Yes, all crime should have large bounties atached to them. It could cut down on the need for a large police force and it may actually start catching criminals.

"I have a hard to supporting things like killing dozens of animals to find out how long it takes to bleed a dog to death"
I too think it would be a waist to kill dozens of random animals to find out how long it takes a dog to bleed to death. We should limit it to dozens of Dogs, and try to limit the results to either types of breed or at least by general size.
OK, I do mostly aggree with you but I had to put up that nice little dark joke.
If this was done correctly I think it would greatly enhance the realism of games. Instead of that generic looking soda can on the table it may be a real Pepsi or coke can. bulletin boards would have realistic ads on them rather than just some goofy made up ad. I'll be able to stop at the Circle K on the corner rather than the fast shop or what ever generic named shop is.
Plus in GTA I could blow the crap out of a real Walmart!!!!!
"Huh? You have a contradiction right there. "Science should not be held back at any cost" and "as long as it's justifiable". So what is it? Science at any cost, or only science if it is justifiable? In fact, why don't you go ahead and replace "science" with some other word like, oh, "religion". You know, it makes you sort of look like the religious zealots that you would presumably oppose."
While you are right he got a little carried away with the nothing is sacred but his point was that the line should favor scientific advancement long before religious idealism's. Even the most die hard animal rights activist will kill ants and roaches if they infest their home. Science needs limits, something along the lines of the Hippocratic Oath, but it also needs to have freedom to accomplish grand objectives. A telescope is not an immoral item I don't care where it is.
"Wow, you're right. If you rape and kill my family and then want to build something on my house, I guess it's better if I work with you not against you. Now you don't have to agree with the perception in that sentence, you just have to UNDERSTAND it."
Yea I just can't get over the fact that I raped and killed Native Americans. Oh wait I have never raped or killed a Native American. In fact, I, or at least my society has given them far more than we give our selves. Yet they do nothing with it. Native American politics, at least here in AZ, has always been to shun anything the "White man" does. Stay a primitive people, reject anything to help them be more comfortable. It has only been recently that I have seen Native Americans start to get a decent way of life. Growing up I never saw Apaches or Navajos that were not drunken, nearly homeless (usually lived in the equivalent of a shed), poverty stricken, people. Not because they didn't have the opportunity technically or physically but they are encouraged from birth not to adopt anything new. Recently this has started to change due to the fact that they are getting some money with the casinos. They are starting to understand that they can have a better way of life. I only hope that it continues and they actually build some industries other than gambling.

And here you mention several things like overpopulation, starvation, genocide health and disease as being a danger to man kind. These have all existed for a very long time and are all self healing. Perhaps not in a nice humane way, but dieing of starvation means one less mouth to feed. disease has always eventually been squashed even if at great loss of life. The only thing you mention that has any kind of danger to man kind is the pandora's box of something that would destroy everything on earth. While this is a possibility it is not an inevitability the way the dieing of the sun is.

Not "learning the secrets of the universe" is totally fucking NOT a danger. It's the luxury of a rich bored man."
I have seen plenty of poverty, both here in the US and abroad. Most poverty is created by the rich but held down by the people in it. There is a certain amount of security in being at the bottom. When you have noth

I state a fact from the link that is every bit of truth about Kerry but yet I get modded as troll???
Great job moderator, I hope your proud.

Ben Kenobi was a politician, "You'll learn that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view."
Kerry's truths all seem to depend on the crowed he is in front of at any given time.
"Bush on terrorism: We need to kill them.
Kerry on terrorism: We need to get France and Germany involved and put them in jail."
I though Kerry wanted to unit the world not throw France and Germany in jail???

I have to post this anonymously otherwise the elders may read this and I'd get in trouble. Oh wait why would the elders be reading this?
Oh wait I'm not amish.

Ohh, sorry I was kind of trying to be funny to. The ridiculousness of expecting news to be less that 18 hours old was suppose to be funny. Sorry.
Killed epiphany 1.4.4 as well. I'm sure it's in the mozilla rendering engine which is mozilla 1.7.3.
