    None of the changes are that fundamental.

    If you do real work on a computer, you should be able to install a real OS yourself.

    The changes made by C++11, 14 and 17 are all pretty minor.
    It always astounds me how those new revisions of the language got people to write better code, which would have worked fine with C++98 as well.

    the fastest BLAS and LAPACK implementations are not written in FORTRAN.

    I remember I interacted with him back when he started the irker project.

    That pretty trivial piece of software, written in Python, was riddled with bugs, and no amount of bug reporting and discussing with him the design mistakes got anything fixed for a whole week, despite him actively trying.
    I rewrote the whole thing in C++ in two days and it always worked robustly from the get go.

    The reasonable thing to do is evaluating the consequences of your action.

    A lot of people, in particular women, are driven by emotions, cannot apply reason, and will seek refuge in morals and groupthink.

    He should have known that Google is no ivory tower full of scholars, able to analyze and see the merit of his memo without going hot-headed and triggering zealotry.

    The USA has generally less freedom than your average country.

    And the only reason you can make a lot of money there is inequality.

    The two mean the same thing, seppuku is just based on the chinese reading.

    Most people that speak English do so as a second language.
    And the English they learn to speak is British.

    American English really only exists in North America, maybe a bit in East Asia, where relatively few people speak English at all.
