  2. Thunderbird never managed to deal with my 10GB IMAP mailbox. It kept randomly freezing for hours trying to re-index stuff even when disabling everything I could, and that's when it even managed to start.
    I moved to GMail, and learnt to deal with Google shit web UI, because at least it scales.

    Wine is the same thing, but better since it runs on top of a real OS, so you're not forced to use an ancient design and ancient drivers.

    The open-source community has mostly shifted to BSD-style licenses these past few years, which has lead to a huge influx of people being paid to work on open-source projects, career prospects for people working on open-source in their own time, and generally better technology.
    All you get by using copyleft is loneliness and obsolescence.

    We live in a pragmatic world, not some hippie utopia.

    18 months counts as new to me, it's not like we upgrade that software every month.

    Nice attempt at advertising for Gitlab, but most companies prefer to use Github Entreprise.

    why did you even get a Switch? The game is on the Wii U, which also has the other good game of this generation.

    If those indiscretions were not taboo, there would be no concern of potential blackmail about them.
    Getting rid of the taboos is a much more sensible way to address the problem than requiring government officials to satisfy some false image of the ideal man.

    The problem is the employer-employee relationship is asymmetrical. The employer has all the power.

    That's not true at all.
    If you're competent, there are plenty of companies that want to hire you. The employee is therefore free to work with whatever employer he prefers, based on what the role, compensation or other perks are.

    Before Uber, I barely ever used taxis. Now it's practical and affordable, I use it all the time.
