There's this assumption that cops have NO idea who they are about to arrest, like it has to be done at a moment's notice, and it's impossible to pull up any kind of info, arrest records, observe him at work, etc. Therefore, everyone has to be treated like a foaming at the mouth methhead who will kill without provocation. This isn't actually the case.
And because it IS such a stigmatized crime, any suspicion of someone downloading CP from THEIR OWN IP address should be looked at with skepticism. Would it have been so hard for a cop to fire up a laptop and note that "criminal's" router was unsecured?
As a 40-something that has met some on POF, I wonder if it's because "the good ones are taken" by the time we get to be this age. Of course, that goes both ways, but I'm attractive, fit, healthy, make a decent living and has very little debt. The problem is there's very few suitable candidates out there. I kept waiting for the "perfect one" to come along, and didn't settle for "good enough". Now, all that's left are the dregs.
Mod parent up. For those whose head this has flown over, distributed supercomputing is not a new idea. It has been implemented, most famously with SETI@home, for quite a while. "Cloud" is merely a new word for an old concept.
Hey, quality vs. quantity. It's not a new or unique dichotomy. Automobile analogy = sports car vs. semi. In other words, you aren't saying anything that hasn't been repeated several thousands of times her on Slashdot.
MP3 is used by more than alpha geeks. Most people that aren't bound by the ipod seem to listen to mp3 (with.ogg being a very distant competitor). Also, amongst online streaming radio, mp3 is very popular. To call it a dead codec, or one that is only sustained due to 'alpha geeks', is simply not true.
MP3 is still so popular due to it's legacy. Those of us that have been collecting digital music since the late '90's are loathe to give it up, despite technical and intellectual property advantages of other formats.
1 out of 6 dieing is a 17% failure rate, which falls within what you estimate the rate was for the E6XX series. That doesn't engender much confidence in the reliability of the E4310.
"Uhhhh...it sounds like about half the stuff on your tablets does not work but "other than that" it runs pretty well?"
He listed three minor issues. At least two I can think of a workaround for. If you think a modern tablet with a CPU that boasts 382 million transistors has six features, then it's time to take your meds. Considering 10.10 was not written with tablets in mind, I think this is an astounding acheivement, not a "shit-sandwich".
Why does geek "culture" insist on embracing these escapist, fictitious products of commercialism when there are true examples of warrior culture? Why not learn Maori, Kiowa, or Assata Shakur? Embrace reality, you lazy pathetic couch-potatoes! Television is the last refuge of the unimaginative.
I'm sorry that it pisses you off to see 'someone's hard work' being taken off the market, but what hard work are you referring to?
Namco sells a port of PacMan for Android, Windows Phone 7, Palm PDAs, XBOX360, etc. So no, it isn't ridiculous that someone could be sued for trying to sell an almost exact copy of one of their most popular products.
"number of dots in maze is different"
Well, in THAT case, I say screw Namco! You obviously were "inspired" by the game, but otherwise, like many artists, are being screwed by the system!

"Because if man is to survive as a species, we must leave this planet."
Citation please.
'If man is to survive as a species, we must destroy this planet.' Well, by all means, GO AHEAD!
If you write all zeros to a drive, I can recover all the data. All the data will be zeros, but still...

I have a very high resolution monitor and the text is simply unreadable because of this.
Have you tried using a lower-resolution monitor? More seriously, have you tried "Ctrl-+"? That will increase the displayed font size.
If this is not reversed pronto, my days here are numbered.
Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
Niche - You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

CNN & MSNBC are pretty far left.
I assume by 'pretty far left' you mean ' somewhat left of FOX News'
Check out Free Speech Radio News and Pacifica Radio if you want left.
wow, "entirely lost" says it all!

So, you're a human photocopier that changed the number of dots in the maze, yet you call yourself an Indy Game Developer?!
