It has been bizarre searching for specific items and seeing the first results have nothing to do with the query, until you realize they're ads. It will be disappointing if we end up depending on Google's index of Amazon's pages to find items...

I recall watching a BBC documentary about a large town, in Africa IIRC, and people just slung their garbage in the river. Just dumped it all in. Human waste, glass, plastic, metal, everything. And the factories dumped pollutants like dyes and other assorted toxic materials in there too. Consequently the river downstream to this craphole was completely dead and covered floating garbage.
I don't think there is an easy solution to this. However a good start might be to require countries receiving foreign aid to demonstrate advances in sanitation and pollution control and hold them to it.
After a recent operation the first thing they did in the recovery room is shoot me full of opioids and I'm in commie Europe. When I went home I got a small number of oxycodone tablets for if things went off the deep end and the NSAIDs became useless (as they tend to do for serious pain). What's supposed to be the alternative?

No, Google the search engine gives you an ad for their product when you search for a competitor. I have no problem with Bing doing that either.
