That's stupid. Artificially pricing goods is never a good thing, even if it's done lower. 'Requiring' is just a shitty concept, economically speaking. That's why GP said to fine them heavily enough to discourage such things; it still allows for free market competition, except they have to take the possibility of legal action into consideration as another factor toward that competition. Do you even understand what you just typed?

What a crock of shit. You do realize that at one point in human history people were slaughtered for religion, thrown into an arena to fight to the death, and tortured for being gay/the wrong religion/funny looking? And that this was government-backed activity in the same civilized world that is now somehow 'regressing?' When was humanity ever any less violent than it is now? I'll give you a hint: never.

Just because shit kinda sucks now doesn't mean there was any point in history that sticks out as some beacon of truth, justice, and love. Because it never happened.

Speaking of Islamic states, let's topple one of the most secular governments in the middle east and let the Islamic fundamentalists vote in a new leader. Nothing could go wrong there...right? I mean, it's absolutely right to demonize Hussein, but don't try to convince me that they were going to come in and forcefully change our way of life. Especially when Hussein and Al Quaeda were in direct ideological conflict regarding secularism.

I realize full well the futility of bitching about things that have already happened, at the same time, OP's post was about CONTINUING the war. The money that will be spent when we're still fighting this thing 5 years down the road HASN'T already happened. Telling OP to shut up because he takes a stance politically indicates to me that you're just another flag-waver; may God have mercy on your soul.
