    On my system (Linux 2.4.9), mozilla is currently using 23M. Thats hardly a lot if you have 192M available.

    He has a point, but he's wrong about one thing:

    "Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?"

    What about the Concorde (British/French)? What about the airbus (European)? He is showing remarkable ignorance and disdain by making that statement.

    I seem to remember, from flying in the States, that there is a large control centre at Bowling Green. Would that be near enough to the towers that they could have aimed for that first ?

    Don't forget, the internet (or rather the ARPANET on which it was based) was originally designed to be resilient in case of a nuclear attack. There's a lot of built in redundancy, probably an order of magnitude more than the telephone networks.

    One legislator who has questioned the DMCA is Rep. Rick Boucher (D-Virginia).



    In a speech in March, Boucher said, "there are some today who believe that the legislation went too far." He said: "It is a crime to circumvent the password or other gateway, even for the purpose of exercising fair use rights. There is no requirement that the circumvention be for the purpose of infringing the copyrights."

    Please write and let him know you appreciate him making a stand.

    Yeah, VAJ is a wonderful IDE. And the beauty of it is, it looks and feels *exactly* the same on Linux and on AIX (probably NT too).

    Perhaps I am being stupid or something, but if an image is visible on your computer, then it has already been downloaded.

    So how can sites say that an image may not be downloaded ? If that were the case then you wouldn't be able to see it.

    It says in the article that the 'cost of pumping the seawater' would be more than the value of the gold recovered.

    Why not use tidal forces to pump the water ? Or even just wave power.
