I liked Resident Evil more when it was... Resident Evil. RE5 is more like Halo, UT, Quake, CoD, or (500 other games) by the second.
The retarded thing is, in 5 more years when people are *only* making FPS... somebody is going to release a Survival Horror game that sells like hot cakes, and we'll see all the CEOs start chasing that pot o' gold...
I never know if people are actually going to read my responses, but here it goes.
R&C has been fantastic! But it sounds like this is the last one. I haven't liked Resistance all that much and the genre is crowded (realistic FPS set in a semi-alien near future). Their schtick, with their being alien hives and also people being turned into aliens, is kind of cliche and lame. I feel Gears of War uses the same exact setting.
The guns have cool features in Resistance, but they aren't fun the way they are in R&C.
So, to reiterate my original post, I've loved all of Insomniac's games, but if Resistance is what their new games will be like, after R&C is done, that's too bad.:(
I've been playing their games since the original Spyro. I think they know what the hell they're doing, make a game fun - don't get caught up in the details.
I hope they can figure out a good franchise with good features, after Ratchet and Clank. Resistance has been OK, but it's already in an overcrowded genre, with a pretty cliche shtick.
A lot of time in Science, you see people get aggressive towards dissenters of the popular opinion. Not aggressive in a good way, mind you. Heretics are GOOD because they strengthen or destroy good/bad science.
Just remember that next time you read an ID article;-)
Battery memory is dependent on the battery type. Nicad batteries tend to have really terrible memory, and the best way to deal with this is cycling the battery (completely discharging it and recharging it several times.) Or completely discharing/recharging it every time you use it.
Nickle Metal Hydride batteries, on the other hand, have no memory at all.
Will Wright thinks he's a great game designer. He is, but he's also very arrogant. Arrogant in that "George Lucas I shit gold" way. I think he never stopped to think about why The Sims was fun. I think he never stopped to think about why "Spore" wouldn't be a stellar success. Now, they're desperate to save it, without realizing that the fundamental design was flawed in a oh-so-not-re-playable way. It's a one time through shits and giggles 80% rating game. Go back to the drawing boards and make a new game. Don't forget to self examine to figure out why you failed/succeeded at your goals!
tl;dr Just because your last game sold a gazillion, cheap production, high return addons, does not mean your next game will as well!
It's sad that people actually think even the UK is a police state, they obviously have not read much about what being in a real police state is like, or travelled to some truly controlled parts of the world (like Zimbabwe, which I have been to)
SuperKendall, why do you buy into this argument? I see it a lot on Slashdot, and everywhere else I go!
It goes like this: "X is bad." "Y is worse than X, X isn't bad at all."
The fallacy here is that somehow, you could be the 2nd worse and that isn't a bad thing at all! While it might be true that the UK doesn't make people disappear (yet) it is also true that the UK is creating very powerful policing tools, and that once they do start making people disappear, it will be all too late, as George Orwell has warned us.
And don't even think for a second that our leaders are benevolent and immune to corruption.
Make sure, that under no circumstances, that you post your situation to a popular internet site. That way you can be sure not to draw attention to your circumstances from the people who might investigate......oh wait one minute.
There are rules and safeguards up the wazoo about hiring workers with with lower pay on H1B.
Wow, you have far too much trust in the government... what are you doing on slashdot?
Anyways, to counter your point, let me ask you this: "How come Comcast continuously and blatantly creates false advertising and doesn't get in trouble for it? There's 'rules and safeguards up the wazoo' about making false claims about your product, ESPECIALLY on television."
And since they don't have houses, mortgages, or kids, they aren't spending the *huge* amounts of money all those things cost which boost our economy. The housing bubble wouldn't be such a hit if more people were buying houses. The economy wouldn't take as much of a hit if more people were spending money on their kids.
Oh, nice, I just noticed your signature. Because it is religion that's screwing up this country, amiright or amiright? Because, you know how religious those bankers and politicians are, never lieing and always going to church! It's totally religion that's the opium of the masses, because things like Television and MMOs are SOOO ineffective at making people lazy. I just hope that people like you keep fighting the good fight against those religious bastards, they should stop their charity work and start watching The Secret Life of the American Teenager, like the rest of us good Americans!/sarcasm
The difference is that the employees can quit and get other jobs and the customers can buy other products.
Absolutely! Would you like Exxon gas or Mobile gas for your car? What kind of Microsoft computer do you want to use at work? Would you prefer AT&T spying on your, or Comcast?
How about working freelance or starting your own business? Just make sure you don't ever do anything that a large corporation doesn't want you to do, or you will be held [1]personally liable! Also, don't get sick, because you won't have any health care! Who cares that our great leader, Big Brother, isn't held up to these standards? After all, he did such a great job last year, we personally gave him a 16.9 billion dollar bonus! I know that was the best $100 of my tax money I ever spent!
I'm someone who doesn't watch much TV. I'm sure other people could go a few days (or however long it takes them to find out what's wrong with their television set) without TV. Now, how much MORE is this bill costing me in taxpayer dollars? And you justify this HOW?
yet a laptop with a quarter of the power and less functionality can't be built for less than 200$ for the OLPC.
I don't know. The more I hear about this "laptop" (portable, operating off of 2 watts, expandable memory...) the more I'm convinced it's the real deal.
They're gouging the hell out of casual players. When was the last time they ever added anything for casuals, (read: those who don't have to "clock in" for a raid or arena)
I haven't been paying attention for the last 14 months, but in the 3 years I played, the only and last one was Dire Maul.
Also, if you've been playing since release and bought the expansions, you've paid $700 (50 mo x 15 + 50 x 2). Since when was $700 reasonable for a game?
- 17" chrome rims - aggressive "face" - chrome grills - tall enough for your kids to easily flip it - 10 billion dollar advertising campaign - large enough to kill anyone I hit
We want people to actually use these things, remember?
why don't you then? My security question is always "What do you listen to to calm you down?"
Nobody will ever guess my security question... Because my mother's maiden name or my pet's name isn't "Rammstein" (or whatever my answer *really* is...)
I hope I'm not the only one who saw this and thought, oh cool! Only $4,200? What a steal, I'm gunna get one!
Too bad reality set in :(
The only side that seems to call obama the "chosen one" are republicans.
I have a lot of liberal friends. I tend to consider myself bipartisan, and as much as I hate to admit it, I voted for Obama.
With that said, I have heard from no less than 3 people the exact words, "Obama is the messiah."
These are level headed people, most of the time. Politics has a way of making people crazy.
What's "real english?"
If England (the root word of English) started speaking only a modified Latin, would that language be "english?"
Or maybe, American's speak "real english" because there's more people who speak American English than there are who speak any other type of English?
Or maybe, instead of inane nitpicking about "real english" we can just recognize it for what it is, a regional accent.
Besides, I think British English is more corrupt than American English, innit?

Ha ha ha ha ha!
It is the top movie on The "Bay's" top 100 list, with over 20,000 seeders
Achievement Unlocked: "Whoosh"

Hey! That gives me an idea! Lets build a liquid house!

You know, if you have 30 days to live because of liver failure, I think getting cancer is worth extending that by a few months...
a control group, who presumably had their livers removed and replaced with nothing...
It's about time people started doing this research. It's been woefully lacking in the last few decades.
Yeah, ever since Nazi Germany fell, mad science just wasn't what it used to be... *sigh*
