Considering that the default Google search page has a link to local bars (with map and all), the idea of selling such an app for money is patently absurd.
I sometimes find it amazing what utter bullshit gets modded up on this site. You can in fact get WP7 skins for your Android. So far, there's nothing like this.
Mmm, did you two even look at the videos? 1) It's not sluggish. 2) It doesn't look much like anything you've seen. "Oh but Nokia software is always poor, so this software must be poor as well!" Sorry, but that's the argument of a retard. The software looks great (from the few hands-on videos posted by various, not only Nokia's own), and Android's only obvious advantage is the huge market for apps.
Much of the slowness of the Galaxy S is said to come from the file system, some ridiculous Samsung hackjob that degrades very fast. Other androids don't have the problem -- nor any of the others you mention. Meego might still be better than Android in several ways, just not the ones you mention.
Emacs is at version 23 because at version 1.13 or so, they decided the major number would never change and was therefore redundant. You could call it 1.23 if you wanted, but then Richard Stallman will come and haunt you in your sleep.
Wrong. In 1999, the hacker (as defined in the Jargon File) ethic was widespread on Slashdot, whereas these days the site is occupied primarily by dilettante gadget consumers.
If that was actually true, this "huge" political wing would probably have introduced some of their supposed corrective measures by now. Looks like you're attacking a figment of your own imagination.
In reality, you're the one who's trying to change the terms of the discussion by twisting "global warming" to mean something which it never meant, so that you can pretend the current term "climate change" is Something Completely Different. You're simply an intellectually dishonest prick.
On-rails? You do realise you're talking about the iPhone version of the game, right? Which is innovative simply for bringing that kind of graphics to a mobile platform.
Exactly. Being cheap and innovative isn't enough when innovation doesn't give value for money.
Yes, but what about $28,000? Apparently possible, but not possible to sell.
Sounds like a brilliant way to make more money for attorneys.
Oh, look: a screen full of apps. Must be a cheap iPhone knock-off from 2005.
Or you could just type in 'Wendys' in Google Maps and get the address directly from there.

I predict that a tall, dark stranger will tell you that you know nothing about translation.

One reason why laptop sales passed desktop sales is of course that desktops last longer, due to their upgradeability.

True that. One should negotiate one's wages with a multinational corporation as equal individuals, not go brute force with collective bargaining.

I'm pretty sure it would offend most people on here. Ironic that a law text should be able to break itself.
It makes perfect sense. Btrfs won't get stable for RHEL unless it's beta tested in Fedora first.
Personally, I find Kevin Bacon is exceptional when playing assholes in Filipino horror movies from New York.
He's not taken as an example of an innocent victim, he's an example of a victim.
Right. Since phones were never ever made of plastic back in the days before wireless.
It's a lot of information. Too bad most of it is wrong.
I said stop believing, not stop reading. If you stopped reading Slashdot, then how would you know whom to flame?
3) Stop believing in crap opinion pieces by random know-nothings on the web.
