Unfortunately I use enough minutes where it is probably worth it to have a plan. Most of the prepaids suffer from many of the problems I described in my last post too.
I think you nailed the biggest ones. My biggest gripes are dropped calls and weak signals in NYC, and no signal in areas where other phones on the same carrier get a signal. Granted I realize part of the problem is the phone, and the other the network.
Mind you, I'm not knocking all smartphones, I myself own an iphone (which I have mixed feelings towards). But the unfortunate trend for the last couple of years in the US has been to focus on feature rich phones while doing little to improve the call quality, which is the primary function of the device. Worse yet, all the basic cell phone plans are more expensive now just to subsidize the smart phones sold under contract now.
I am an iphone owner, but I am considering just getting a basic cell phone that offers good battery life and call quality. I can live without mobile email and applications I will never use (I do realize email is a requirement for a lot of folks).
PS can anyone recommend a gsm phone that meets the above description?
Military action against a country with a substantial nuclear arsenal, an army the same size as ours, a population with hundreds of millions more people, technologically on par with us in many respects, and an industrial complex that dwarfs anyone else, is not a good idea.
And the worst part is, most of these supposed secure measures don't do jack shit. We as a nation need to realize that we'll never be completely safe, that there's no level of TSA gadget that will prevent every single act of violence.
I'd say the worst part is that a lot of US citizens believe it to be true.
Why can infrastructure like this not be built in the U.S.? Because we don't have 300 million unskilled laborers who will work their ass off for a few bucks a day. We don't have a government that has the authority to just displace hundreds of people in order to build a subway station without going through a lot of red tape. In order to keep up with China in this area, we'd have to give up a lot of the values we treasure for the sake of progress, which is something most of us here on./. wouldn't do.
We may not have 300 million, but there is a whole country just to the south of us with many unskilled laborers perfectly willing and able to work cheaper than the minimum wage. Of course those horrible people are just out to take our jobs...
The store would push employees to sell warranties more than anything else. Even to the point where they had week long training seminar specifically for selling warranties. There was one salesman who would pull some dirty tricks like adding the warranty to the sales ticket without even asking the customer. Despite this, and his abhorrent body odor, he still managed to outsell most of the other people on the floor.
But I hope he is exonerated, sues the fuck out of the county and wins. Not that he needs the money, but there needs to be a clear message sent that you can't twist the law any which way you please when you piss the authorities off.
Definitely depends on the brand you get, the quality and lifespan of the bulb can vary dramatically. If you get the cheap ones from home despot, they last a good amount of time, but they take forever to reach their full brightness.
Christ,
I'm either feeding a troll or dealing with a conspiracy nut by responding to this but...
How about instead of wild speculation actually providing some definitive proof of your claims.
When ordinary citizens break the law, they get punished, often going to jail. When officers of the state violate citizen's constitutional rights, violations that have a much more resounding effect on society, the violations go largely ignored, rarely resulting in penalties, and even rarer that those officers will see any jail time. It is unfair and fucked up, the kind of system the founders wanted to prevent. IMO, if a civil servant (from the bottom to the top) blatantly violates the constitutional rights of a citizen, it should be prosecuted. Of course that will never happen, but one can dream.

The photo in tfa is clearly a fake. The dumbbell is photoshopped in.
Oops, this appears to be the wrong board. Oh well.

Looks like cabriel beat me to this.
Or, put the car into neutral, so you can do important things, like steer the car so you don't drive into a fucking tree.

No need to worry about him: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/39133
I was at the NYC open hack a few weeks ago, nothing like that there, very nicely catered though.

...it's their own damn fault. Considering how long mms has been around, and how long this has been mulled and they have had to prepare for this.
It's great...basically restored the game to its pre-CU state. Ironically it seems like it has more players and is more stable than Sorny.
Heck, I wonder where people like you are getting your slow starting CFLs from, because none of mine take that long.
The cheap home depot ones they sell in packs of 4,6,8,etc. tend to take longer to brighten up.

Yes, its not like businesses in any other country fit your description of the Chinese...
I mean, is it really worth it? Isn't this the kind of behavior in China that earns you a bullet in the back of the head?
How is a gay guy going to help extend battery life? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=powertop
Fortunately for the MTA their schedules are as far from factual as you can get.
