I'm older than dirt and I am fully aware of what the Chromebooks can and cannot do. For me it was the perfect fit for a kitchen laptop for online radio, spotify, youtube and recipe browsing. $199 and easy enough for my kids to use.
I think my test is enough to prove how ridiculous it is, but if he somehow succeeds then by all means let's go the full monty on the next try:) PETA might object though.
My FF has the same problem and so does Chrome, it (flash video w sound) works in Arora and Epiphany but those browsers don't have as many extensions and plugins. Just started playing with Opera 10.10 today and that is getting sluggish and memory hoggish too if I leave it running for a few hours.
for the few people I dial internationally fairly frequently I added them as GV - Bob for example then put the number as my GV number followed by a p for pause then my pin and another p then 2, then another p then the number and pound sign.
like this:
555-555-5555p1111p2p011445555555555# It dials the whole thing automatically
I haven't found anything else and would be interested in what you find. I have dd-wrt on mine (WRT54GS v5) in repeater bridge mode and it's hit and miss. Works some days, others not, but it might be the fault of my AT&T supplied not so configurable main router.
Most people don't have a say in which health insurance company they shell out cash to, and all the co-pays, percentages of coverage depending on procedure, and in and out of network BS makes me long for govt control.
My health insurance company randomly won't pay medical bills hoping that I'll pay them without paying attention. Not sure who I hate more insurance companies or rebate processors. That should be a poll.
coming up next on/., daylight savings time, y2k bug, south loses civil war. When I read technews in the physical newspaper before slashdot there's something wrong.
Pretty sure they speak English or at least Inglish in their offices, but you couldn't get a visa anyway. Anyhow, how is this different than the industrial revolution, or when computer automation started replacing monotonous jobs?
Can't remember where I saw this so I'll paraphrase: Among highly intelligent people almost everyone is atheist. Not a single member of Congress is atheist. They are either liars or not highly intelligent.

"Rechargeable batter" - sounds delicious. "Sets of a chain reaction" - is it one or a set?
to quote Samuel L Jackson: "English motherfucker, do you speak it?"
I kid, I kid

especially hard to deal with when you're 600 years old
Have one guy (and a few relatives) build it himself using 2000 BC technology, pack it with animals, and then see if it floats.

fix all the instances of 'should of' and 'could of' in the Great Gatsby

and dirt cheap international calls from my cellphone, much better call quality than skype for windows mobile

You forgot to put ads in bold.
So instead of getting taxed to pay for healthcare we pay the insurance companies, I dislike them as much as the wasteful bastards running our country. Interesting comparison between US and Canada health systems

You can find a link for Spain on Wikipedia but you can't find a map of Europe?
