I really liked Rebellion... but I had a list of complaints about it longer than my arm that needed "fixing" to make the game what it should have been. I have no idea any more what those complaints were, but I don't think any of it was overly complicated to fix. They just needed a few good beta testers to point out the problems, then fix them. It could have been a much better game.
I think the arguement in general against DST is not the time, but the change. Most people I hear complain, like myself, would like to see the time go ahead in the Spring, then scrap the whole time change crap permanently. Then call it "standard time" all year long.
France is planning a €20 billion programme to get super-fast broadband to its rural population
I thought they French government was trying to kick people off the internet, not get them on it.
Maybe instead of getting these people on the internet and then off again, they should just save the time and effort and give the €20 billion to the entertainment industry for nothing.
I think it was more along the lines of Leia in the womb sensing her mom through the Force. Seems to make a certain amount of sense with the "just images, really. Feelings." part.
Why they continue to make their paid product more and more undesirable boggles the mind when there are other choices that are not so anti-consumer, and free to boot.
Saying it's not the prosecutors who were at fault, it was bad laws, is complete BS.
Being lawyers, they should know it was bad law, and know that bludgeoning someone with bad laws is wrong.
Instead of saying, this guy broke the law, but the law is bad, something should be done about it. They said let's bully him with bad laws, and see how many broken laws we can pile on top of the guy.
If the prosecutors don't know right from wrong, they don't belong there.
I have spent the last 4 weeks at work in a remote location with limited internet access. I set Steam to Offline Mode before I left. About a week in, when when I clicked on "Start in offline mode" as it asks at every startup, it said it couldn't connect, and that was the end of that. Three weeks with none of my games on Steam playable. Makes me wonder why I bother buying anything.
Going to be back in town (hotel) for a night before heading out again, hopefully I can get it back into "offline mode" for January. *sigh*
Would suck if it is still out, and I can't get into offline mode before I go away again.
Since it doesn't take millions of dollars to figure out "don't connect critical infrastructure to the internet", I assume this is more pandering to the corporations/media industries and not really about protection of infrastructure..
Or maybe:
After Our Lives?
So, ummm... do they actually delete your data? Or just your account? I didn't think they ever delete data.
I was very surprised that it took this long for someone to notice that...
Like so many games these days, they will be designed so that sooner or later you will not be able to play them.
You want a new video card? Your old games won't work.
Because of some unsupported feature? No, an unsupported serial number.
So basically it will be point increases of DX11 forever? Example: DirectX11.2.04g
That's what they get for being "always on".
All new planes should be built from inch thick lead. Maybe thicker, haven't done the math. ;p
You pay cash taxes for money that's earned. Send the IRS a packet of ketchup each time you eat a free lunch.
Microsoft can compromise your machine.
Usually they do this (a lot) by accident.
And of course they can do it on purpose if someone asks.
One thing people need to learn about technology:
Just because you *can* do something, doesn't mean you should.
I work away for weeks at a time in remote locations. Can't play games after shift there that require an internet connection.

Apparently he seems to think that he should be able to live forever on the royalties from that single 20 year old patent.
He probably has friends in the music industry.

Open Office
I'm fairly certain there are others?
Advanced age? Senility a real possibility (soon if not now)? Inability to perform job? Perfect for the Canadian Senate!!
Probably the reason some of these sites are pushing for real names to be used.
Chip and Dale were always messing with Pluto!!

Microsoft says it does not yet see a threat.
Luke: I don't believe it!
Yoda: That is why you fail.
Google added the ability to work on a computer not connected to the Internet
Holy crap! How is that even possible? The mere thought of being able to use a computer that is not connected to the internet blows my mind!
Wait a minute... no it doesn't.

If you take solar energy from space that was not falling on Earth, and sending that energy to Earth, then you're still contributing to global warming.
