Can we just agree that neither company were all that original and that the progression to today's design was a natural and obvious path given the technology that became possible?
Or are we going to start calling in the Science fiction writers next? Because what ever Samsung or Apple might of designed an SF writer likely wrote about it first.
If you're serious about reading get an Ereader that uses Eink they are so much nicer for extended reading than a tablet, and they are also much cheaper than a tablet. I got my nook simple touch for 60 bucks on Ebay, it looked brand new and works perfectly.
I cannot stress enough how awesome Eink is, for reading it really does look just like a book, plus the battery life is so much longer with Eink, so long as you turn off the wireless while you're reading. My Nook has never been below 50% charge, I only charge it about once a month and I read like fiend.
Who seriously gets Google Fiber for the TV aspect of it? I dropped my cable subscription years ago, went with my local DSL because my cable company was crap. That trend is growing, plenty of people don't get cable because of the TV aspect but because it is the best way to get broadband for their area.
When I was a Jr IT Admin, and our systems got infected a some Malware, or a worm we didn't call it a cyber attack, we just bitched about it and fixed the problem and wondered who the hell opened the attachment they got in their email.
Welp at least I can go to one of the many other carriers, because there is no way they would implement such a fee themselves! I'm glad competition is so fierce between wireless carriers, I always feel like I'm getting a great deal.
Ya but if I Assange I'd be absurdly paranoid for the rest of my life. Drone strikes are so easy to do and for the USA to deploy a military asset to Ecuador cannot be that difficult.
Ten years for running a site that linked largely older content that wasn't on TV or offered any where on line. Ya The guy deserves years in a federal pound you in the ass prison.
The problem is this guy should of ran the site under the guise of a corporation, JPmorgan only got fiend like 4 million dollars after making 21 million on a price fixing scheme in New York. No one went to jail and they got to keep a cool 17 million dollars that they stole from the people of New York.
Um he's the president of the united states...the population of the USA is three hundred and eleven million people, and I'm sure there are plenty of people outside of the USA who follow him as well. I don't really see Obama buying twitter followers, perhaps when he initially, campaigned for president, but that would just be an assumption at best.
You know the republicans keep spouting this 700 billion dollar cut but does anyone actually know what was cut and why? I did some research and found a pretty well written post on reddit about it, and it has sources (amazing). To me it doesn't seem that bad, it certainly seems better than medicare turning into a coupon program. 60% off your next tumor ha!
Not just with SCO but with apple itself back during the personal computer era. Originally apple was making a killing in the market then people started making clones and PCs and apple was suing everyone they could get their hands on rather than innovating further. Eventually they became a small niche computer that they were prior to the iPod boom.
Now it would seem history is repeating itself in the phone market, with apple creating only high end, super pricey, super locked down phones and suing anyone who even puts a touchscreen on a phone. I give them another ten years of being relevant max if they don't come up with something new instead of just suing them. I'm not saying they will close down shop or anything just that they will under go the same shrinkage that happened back during the PC era
The problem with picking Ryan, to focus the campaign back on the economy and away from Mitt's business record and his taxes is that Ryan has already tied himself to this 'Path to prosperity' plan aka The Ryan Plan which is soo radical and sweeping that parts of the GOP don't even like it. It basically guts any sort of social support system here in the USA at the same time making them a playground for private industry. Obama has already fought this plan and it isn't anything new. Obama loves fighting the extreme GOP because it is so very easy for him to win, with out having to say anything that would be viewed as too 'liberal' for moderates and interdependents out there.
So sure Mitt might pick up some of the more hardcore GOP radicals with this VP pick but those guys weren't going to vote for Obama anyway. To get the independents and undecided voters in the swing states he is either going to have to back peddle hard on the Ryan Plan, or flip flop like crazy
Heck Obama already has an attack add out on youtube targeting Ryan, they were ready for this joker and this keeps the campaign comfortably focused on what Obama wants it to be. On the extreme GOP ideas that look like more of Bushes failed policies. Bush might be no where to be seen these days in the republican scene, but to most voters it seems like he is still there in spirit. They don't call them the bush tax cuts for nothing
Completely unverified you mean. It really is depressing that people are buying into this. I guess it appeals to some people but the notion that some MIT grad thought up the sling shot maneuver is just stupid. Slashdot you disappoint me today!
Ug this is stupid this came from an unverified AMA on Reddit. The entire thing is very suspect. I'm extremely annoyed that this has made it onto slashdot. You guys are helping to start a new urban legend/conspiracy. Just stop now please.
I find it depressing for some reason, that we would develop a technology specifically so a few guys will be able to trade stocks.0000001 second faster.
I also agree with these statements. The thing that makes me shake my head is these arbitrators are the same thing banks use to royally screw customers here in the USA. They are never impartial and have only 1 goal, to save the company that hired them as much money as possible.

There have been times where the 'day 1 dlc' data was on the disk, and all buying the dlc did was allow you to access it.

Presumably you'd be buying all the IPs that EA owns, EA after all for the longest time has been buying developers and consuming their IPs.
Dear Gaben, please use some of that money you keep in your money pool to buy EA, and then make it awesome.

Calling it now, it is someone Connor MacLeod killed.
Knowledge but not understanding. I think it is important to remember that those are two different things. Still it would be pretty neat.

2012, browsing the internet with out adblock ya I'm going to have to ask for your nerd license and decoder ring.
Welp at least I can go to one of the many other carriers, because there is no way they would implement such a fee themselves! I'm glad competition is so fierce between wireless carriers, I always feel like I'm getting a great deal.
Ya because no covert intelligence agency anywhere has ever used a Honey trap.....
You're right if he was going to get killed by a professional group it would not be something so obvious as a drone strike.
Ya but if I Assange I'd be absurdly paranoid for the rest of my life. Drone strikes are so easy to do and for the USA to deploy a military asset to Ecuador cannot be that difficult.

Robbing the Exxon at 35 and north street. :)))))))))))))))) Totally gonna get a burrito too.

Nasa successfully tested, an inflatable heat shield not to long ago, I imagine something like that could be used.
