    look to be honest I have seen the "lawyers" and to be honest I would not let anyone from Huawei bid on my contracts either and thats nothing to do with china but to do with quality

    the fact that your going to be passing defence department data over those links and you think for one moment someone won't tap that data ?
    your very deluded, what you can do is make it harder and one of the first places to look is at the network layer and how to secure that

    for example a known problem from years back...
    most phone calls from the greek prime minster where intercepted on the network level at a Vodafone switch and guess who supplies Vodafone ?

    thats enough for me to exclude them let alone all the other problems...

    the funny thing is that Huawei have been trying to buy influence by paying old politicians in australia....

    yes thats a very decent way to do things however in australia we have cap's so I would not want to give away my allowance...

    living in other places I was unlimited and had no problem doing exactly what you do and giving away a portion of my bandwidth to those in need

    maybe someone would help me out one day...

    ok so in a lot of countries block objecting sites...

    in the UK (which is still in the EU) they block child pornography sites via DNS and url this even blocked part of wikipedia.org for a while until people noticed...
    (there is no public list)

    so what really interest's me is how are they blocking those sites ?
    who sold this to them or did they develop it themselves and are they issuing SSL certificates for sites to inspect the payload of SSL traffic ?

    anyone actually have the TECHNICAL DETAILS ?

    I hate how everything is locked down...

    I wish there was a nice way that people could syndicate between things i.e. an open network with a privacy model

    I simply have not seen a nice way to do this any suggestions ?
    (no Diaspora does not even look useful)

    something with OpenID would actually be useful !

    its a bit like saying you can plug in a CAT 5 cable and get gigabit...
    the answer is it depends...
    the longer the cable the more the signal degrades and just because its digital does not mean it will produce the same results..

    I guess the Kogan cables are not very long... dont get me wrong I think they are right most HDMI cables are a scam... but someone needs to actually test them before commenting...

    seriously...

    the only reason why they can port office is because of .NET and the CLR

    silverlight is kind of dead no matter how much noise people make because realistically you get a better reach if you either do things natively like C# or use javascipt and html
    (ask yourself this how many mobile users are you turning away if you have a website that has to use silverlight... look around you... would it not be better to engage the users on their mobile devices...)

    the package size does not impact significantly on phone design at all this is simply a case of laziness.. design around it

    the simple thing to do would be to create a decent web interface to OpenWRT and DD-WRT that can be branded by people and then we would be in a better situation !
    most of them use linux anyway so it's simply that they dont know how to ship quality
    encourage them to use Open systems and not and they will

    they are trying to derail the NBN and trust me this is the ONLY way australia is not going to be a backwater in 5 year (more than it is now)

    they are nuts first they claim that wireless is speedier than fibre
    (what do they think forms the uplinks from the base stations....)

    then they claim its not value for money
    (frankly the amount of bandwidth in australia is worth 100 billion but they wont see that as they dont depend on the internet for anything since right now it's so slow)

    if you want to know what a society can do with lots of bandwidth go to sweden

    australia needs something like NBN FAST and the politicians should stop playing games !!!!
