    this is a good thing when heart rate monitors and power (electricity) monitors can communicate via bluetooth

    but they need a profile (standard way) of exporting this information i.e. ticks

    does anyone know how the "smart" power monitors can communicate and dump information ?

    lots of blogs are infact reviews or opinions on things it would be nice to actually mark that up in a review format...

    publishing and sorting more things into taxonomies would be nice

    its all about the encoders !

    google can quite easily make reference but until there is High quality encoders then its pretty pointless

    making decoder plugins for IE and mac is actually pretty easy in comparison

    hardware reference designes need to be seeded also to the likes of TI and STMicroelectronics before it will even start to be useful after all where do all the camera's now do mp4 come from...

    its all about the encoders !

    they where intent on billing people for effects that essentially you could do in imagemagick

    but what mattered was the ability to do things in a flash platform
    wake up yahoo and build something nice... add to flickr
    what people really liked was the sprinkling of dew... have a sense of humor and it gets you a lot

    there are lots of online photoshop tools but the easyest way to tell if they are serious is to find if they have a image clone tool...

    odd but true

    they where insistent on billing people I will be interested if google wants this to continue

    you have to have bandwidth and frankly the links in and out of china are pretty bad....

    I wonder if google.com.hk has these problems or if the crawlers had problems...
    after all the dns results do not match for all resolvers and sometimes results in tw rather than USA

    I am actually in favour of not capitulating and doing what google shareholders would like....

    most Set Top Box manufacturers actually use linux so I would choose one that can be controlled via firewire unless your going to get a TiVO see http://tivohme.sourceforge.net/

    again MythTV depends on the hardware that you use so I would say get some better supported hardware or buy something that they have done the integration for you

    so are you saying that the ISP is filtering the packets ?

    can you tell what equipment they are using ?

    personally I wish ISP's would just send out routers that where IPv6 compliant (are you listening British Telecom...)

    I think Gmail is a great service for personal accounts...

    but for business sorry you need to pay a real live person or support company who will actually be able to deal with your data

    how do you get the data out of gmail to switch providers ?

    ever serviced a discovery litigation from google ?
    (you know where they judge you guilty of you dont come up with the data)

    sorry but there is a good reason to keep this stuff on site and working...

    SVG tiny is a great thing for the whole of the web to actually support !

    it enables mobile web browsers to show content regardless of the screen size and thats a GOOD THING

    firefox just needs to support SVG tiny...

    right actually what they should be doing is providing unsubscribe ability in the email

    the main providers should send is a DSN and it should be formated to rfc3464

    they should take care to ALL allow list header specification. List-Unsubscribe to show in the headers

    if marketeers dont allow unsubscribe in their header they should be blocked

    HARD

    this would allow the main providers to add a button to unsubscribe from the list

    (rather than the current situation where people just junk the mail)

    and it would allow the providers to identify what email came from a list....

    that would be nice....

    ok I actualy really like yahoo maps...

    google maps look pretty but they are not that fast compared to yahoo flash (.flv) maps for certain things

    and frankly their fire eagle stuff blows the socks off the rest

    BUT this feels much like the http://www.geonames.org/ and frabkly I prefer to use geonames I would have thought it would be much better that yahoo actually did something like this allowed people to download the data and provided a web service...

    I prefer geonames because its open and well frankly works

    it might be solving a differant problem but really this article does not point that out to me

    what exactly is the point in URL shortening ?

    the only argument I can see is publications and twitter

    publications - there is no way that I am going to be able to example.com/typeskjd583 better than a URL this has been tried and frankly failed

    twitter char limit - well actually twitter should solve this by offering their own service and key into what people are looking at thus having that knowledge inside twitter and being able to monitize it...

    apart from those two reasons (which are false for I belive the reasons above) what other reasons are there ?

    URL's are good because they are Uniform....

    first person I would suspect is the ISP or your webmail

    without knowing any details of even the country your in it's kind of hard to guess...

    but ISP's use deep packet inspection and even easier I am guessing you fill in your email address for their webmail and they bill you...

    I thought that openfire was a jabber server so when the article states

    "XMPP is also quite stable, at least for my purposes."

    I get really worried about how much the author actually knows about the server...

    realistically I would like to see some mobile jabber clients for things like blackberry

    if anyone knows a free beer version of a jabber client for blackberry let me know
    (I am not interested in webapp's since I like my privacy)
