    China forced its way into Tibet quit some time ago... yeah 700 years ago. If only they were as effective as the english or other europeans in destroying culture and people.

    I think violence against a minority ethnic group is pretty deplorable, and we have seen some of the worst in Tibet by Tibetans against other ethnic groups (and or religions) who make up 6-8% of the population of the TAR.

    All I use is an On Demand Anti Virus (ClamWin) and I never had a virus.
    My computer has a public IP, directly connected to the Cable "modem".

    Yes, I do use the Windows integrated Firewall because of RPC Service that you cannot shutdown, but I have plenty of exposed services like RDP, FTP and IRC. Additionaly I would sometimes turn of the firewall for a period of a few hours for diffrent reasons.

    0 Viruses since Windows 2000 (before win2k also, but it was never "always on, always connected"
    That said, I also keep my system up-to-date and I regularly check my exposed ports and what proccesses I have running every month or so.

    Granted, I have installed Windows for relatives and they turned into virus and spyware hell in a really short time. So in the end it MUST be the user.

    Yes, apple ALWAYS made it sound like they desiged the CPUs themself. IBM was never mentiond, it was always the Apple G4, the Apple G5 etc.
    Intel probably told them they will not be allowed to rename them ;o

    Yes, it sounds like this is pure money for them, and also a harddisk crash or windows re-install (and thus DRM no longer valid) is much more likely then a scratched or lost DVD... Borrowing out to friends also wont work.

    Hopefully this will fail badly

    Somehow I would have liked this to not come out until then, esp. since so many companies refused to install anything non-MS.
    I did install the patch on my networks, and now I feel like my time was wasted and the stubborn people won.

    I guess next time I go with the lazy people.

    Thats acctually not a bad thing really. They should sell the same machines in 1st and 2nd world countrys for $199. With the advertised benefit that like 50% of the profits go to make even more PC's for the 3rd World.

    The probaly want to archive them for good. In order to do that they need the data as direct as possibel and not encrypted and/or compressed.

    I have to go 100% opposite here.

    The larg map were the most boring ones to play, scarabrea anyone?
    Vehicles are not needed in Tribes as is; you ARE the vehicle, whenever I have to sit in one I have less options/weapons and movement freedom. I also enjoy the skiing more then simply pressing 1 button for afterburner...
    Vehicles are alright if they only need 1 player. I am sorry I do NOT enjoy pressing a drop bomb button once in a while...

    Teamwork I agree, as long as you can do most stuff solo almost as well. (Skill has to scale)

    for a mere month or so - then some of the people released cheatloadeder (stupid to do a CRC check just once) The Glide hacks were never acctually fixed cause they were so low level. I mean even a buggy Graphicsdriver can let you see through certain buildings etc.

    IN fact why not have the virus download a patch that installs a daemon that periodically installs all MS patches. anyone who is too dumb to deactivate it needs to have it installed. its a self -selecting fix
    Funny that Microsoft will prolly make this daemon mandatory soon. But if a virus would install it every antivirus suite would kill it.
