Well, it is about time they trained their support people. It seems as though they are just handed a script (or maybe a program) that would say, resintall everything and try again.

It seems very convenient that a cable ISP owned primarily by AOL Time
Warner, (NYSE:AOL) the largest ISP in the world and a direct competitor
with the Microsoft Corp. (the second-largest) for dial up and broadband
Internet users worldwide, does not support the software of the most popular
    OS ever assembled.
It might be nice if they got their writing or their facts straight. I don't think anyone could honestly claim that Windows XP is the most popular OS ever assembled.

Does that all sound familiar? When you didn't object to being x-rayed and having your bags searched at the airport, or going into city hall to pay a parking ticket, or being searched by the Fry's door nazis...You Asked for this! You allowed your freedom to be taken a little bit at a time for an illusion of security. Why are you complaining now? This is how we lose our rights, a little at a time.

Maybe someone should show the evils of the DMCA, the MPAA and the RIAA.

Create a little cartoon or someone trying to print an image from a movie for a school book report, and the police surrounding the house. Or maybe a someone trying to setup an ebook reader for their blind friend, and the FBI busting down the door. Or a professor talking about encryption in a classroom and the RIAA comes in with a muzzle.

Actually, he was threatened by the RIAA. They did not claim it was a circumvention device, but they only claimed it violated that anti-circuimvention provisions. Of course, when he filed suit against the RIAA, the RIAA realized they were trapped and fell on their sword.

Why do you think that the software companies put in those HUGE disclaimers. The ones that say, we promise you can read the disk, but nothing more than that.

I know of one software company that is being sued for shoving a non-working (or barely working) product out the door. If this starts happening more, software companies may do some testing before shipping a product. Or free upgrades for people who run into their bugs.

I really object to companies that charge you support fees to call in so that you can report their bugs.
