Well, it is about time they trained their support people. It seems as though they are just handed a script (or maybe a program) that would say, resintall everything and try again.
It seems very convenient that a cable ISP owned primarily by AOL Time
Warner, (NYSE:AOL) the largest ISP in the world and a direct competitor
with the Microsoft Corp. (the second-largest) for dial up and broadband
Internet users worldwide, does not support the software of the most popular
OS ever assembled.
It might be nice if they got their writing or their facts straight. I don't think anyone could honestly claim that Windows XP is the most popular OS ever assembled.
What's wrong with you? Are you a terrrorist/thief/hacker? Why would object if you have nothing to hide? It's for your own protection!
Does that all sound familiar? When you didn't object to being x-rayed and having your bags searched at the airport, or going into city hall to pay a parking ticket, or being searched by the Fry's door nazis...You Asked for this! You allowed your freedom to be taken a little bit at a time for an illusion of security. Why are you complaining now? This is how we lose our rights, a little at a time.
Maybe someone should show the evils of the DMCA, the MPAA and the RIAA.
Create a little cartoon or someone trying to print an image from a movie for a school book report, and the police surrounding the house. Or maybe a someone trying to setup an ebook reader for their blind friend, and the FBI busting down the door. Or a professor talking about encryption in a classroom and the RIAA comes in with a muzzle.
I suspect the reason that Microsoft wants virus writers to be consider terrorist is to deflect their own responsibility.
Virus writers are wrong, but does it match bombing a building or hijacking a jet? It should depend on the virus. But, then should Microsoft be arrested for aiding these terrorists by making it so easy for them?
Hey, remember that time Felten wrote a paper and couldn't release it cuz it was a circumvention device?
Actually, he was threatened by the RIAA. They did not claim it was a circumvention device, but they only claimed it violated that anti-circuimvention provisions. Of course, when he filed suit against the RIAA, the RIAA realized they were trapped and fell on their sword.
Since the people who paid by check are the ones who lost out, then get the USPS involved. This is presuming that they mailed checks. Mail fraud is a big thing for them, since it gives them a chance to flex their muscle.
Also, go to the FBI and mention RICO. The feds may take his computer.
Why do you think that the software companies put in those HUGE disclaimers. The ones that say, we promise you can read the disk, but nothing more than that.
I know of one software company that is being sued for shoving a non-working (or barely working) product out the door. If this starts happening more, software companies may do some testing before shipping a product. Or free upgrades for people who run into their bugs.
I really object to companies that charge you support fees to call in so that you can report their bugs.
What you say is true, but there is a rub. I have 3 copies of Windows that I don't use. They were preloaded, but I did not agree to the terms. I have not been able to get refunds for these packages either.
Since they refused to take the return, does the EULA that I did not agree to hold valid?
You want a physiatrist as a base point. You will also want see about an EMG (not fun) to check for CTS or nerve entrapment. Also, have your elbow x-rayed, there can be an entrapment there that an EMG won't pick up.
Also, see if the person knows about accupuncture. That can help.
Before I had sorehands.com, I had mrbill.com. I sold it for $2500 plus an official Mr Bill t-shirt. I would have won if it came to a legal battle, but why bother?
Somethings to keep in mind are issues of trademark and trademark dilution. That they came to you, offering to buy should help that. Did you build traffic to the site, and how much traffic does it generate?
Part of the problem is with fine motion control v. gross motion control.
Add a touch screeen so that when it comes to window selection less fine manipulation, you can use the large muscles of the arm and shoulder, then use the mouse for the finer that you cannot get with a touch screen.
The more important aspect is the comfort and the breaks. No matter what mechanism is used, trauma can accumulate over time. You need time to allow the body to recover from that trauma.
Sure the jet fuel cause some people more problems, but the issue is a big jet hitting a big building very hard!
Look at an meteor hittting the earth. The impact and results of the impact that causes the damage, no fuel.
Maybe you want lots of fuel in the jet, then the pilot can self-destruct the plane before impact. This is not going to be the next terrorist attack vector. They will try another means to cause destruction and terror.
Virtual or not, the people wanting child porn have a screw loose.
You cannot be charged with statory rape of a nineteen y/o even if she told you she was 16. It is impossible since she is 19. What about porn with a 19 y/o that looks 16? What about taking a 20 y/o picture of a 30 y/o and using that in a virtual porn flick? The picture is of a 10 y/o, but she is 30 now.
"Generally, they are the kinds of cases the government wouldn't even know about if they hadn't been contacted by the victim,"
They say this as this is specific to hi-tech crimes. Most property crime, extortion, rapes, battery, assualts, only only known by the government when the victim makes a complaint.
I am suprised that Dmitry didn't bring a lawsuit against Adobe and the government for retaliation under the ADA. He was aiding others in making a reasonable accomodation by breaking the software to allow it to be converted to speech for the blind.
By giving a link to the article, it bypasses a technical means of control to content.
This type of camera is illegal in many states. As part of it, you may be required to wear a sign that says, "By being in my presences you assent to being recorded." Of course this would be in a font that only an eagle can read.
Put on the website a term of use. This term of will state that you agree not to use anything on this site as a basis for a lawsuit. If you don't agree with this, then leave this site immediately.
If they try to claim the bot can't read it, then claim you did not read their EULA.
Fight fire with fire, but never bring a knife to a gun fight.

Why use a disposable camera? Use the Wristwatch Camera. How will they know what is is, when it is up your sleeve.

Check out my site.

I didn't expect the operators to sleep in sleeping bags, but this is better than most houses.
Is Yahoo Serious going to make Yahoo! give up the domain Yahoo.com? This reminds me of the Madonna domain dispute.

Rulings on domain where there is no defense made should not be considered on determining the sanity of a ruling body.
This is given what he actually did was a crime and his intent was to release the scripts as opposed to just warning them about a hole in security.

Is everone infected with Code Red a terrorist?
Silly huh? Well, people thought it was silly to say that the attack would be used as an excuse to abridge our rights further.
It will eliminate money from foreign corporations.
Don't you notice that it is strange that representatives for an area accept donations from large corporations far removed from their district.
