Classrooms won't be obsolete though for quite a long time though, because I doubt listening to a lecture on an iPod will give you a better experience than being in a lecture hall. We will use classrooms until they have helmets that we can put on and be given the info we need for life.
In school, we had a trademark infringement lawyer come speak to us during computer science telling us how bad it was to illegally download music movies and such. But now as I read this, since there is no where to buy these movies piracy seems like the only option.
Sun has now made my list of the stupidest companies on the planet. This is the same stupidity that happened when Yahoo rejected Googles buyout offer.
Message to CEO's: When you have someone offering you much more then your companies worth...you take it run and never look back. Especially with the bad economy.
Why should the US be able to have more then 10 trillion dollars worth of nukes while nobody else in the world can?
Our superpower status is weakening...were not going to be the boss forever.
All this hype around D3 is getting on my nerves. If D3 comes out before SC2 I'm boycotting Blizzard games
I understand SC2 has to be sports worthy but still...10+ years?
With 6.5B+ people on this planet IPv4 won't last forever. Moving from IPv4 is like moving from 32 bit to 64 (128 in this case). Simple. Unless your using Vista, of course.
You say "Learn how to write a persuasive essay and come back when you're old enough to shave".
Oh I'm gonna go cry now. I got insulted by someone from Slashdot who likes to troll as an AC. Get over yourself, moron.
Seriously? This is completely ridiculous. There is no way that just video games alone made this person go on a shooting rampage. Several studies by groups such as Harvard Medical, The Journal of Adolescent Health, and the British Medical Journal have shown that there is no conclusive link between video games and violent activities (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_controversy). These people don't think that uhm...the media for instance has anything to do with it? Let's get real here people. There is no way playing some Far Cry 2 or any game like it alone contributes to the initiative to do violent things.
For me, video games are a great way to relax after a long day. It's an unwinding period and I don't feel violent at all when playing. I'm not alone saying this, there are many others who feel exactly the same way. The German police chief should look at the facts and statistics before he jumps the gun.
On the scenario of the working environment. Here's two examples.
Buisness: Your boss isn't going to want to dish out the money for a mac. Especially when your buying these machines in high quantities. Most would go for the Dell Vostro buisness series. It makes sense.
Home: Home is a different situation and it comes down to how much dough you have to dish out. If you have the money, buying a mac will be the better choice. But with the way the economy is, I don't see many people wanting to pay that extra 500 or whatever...even if it's going to give you a much better quality computer.

Now whenever a family member or friend asks me to fix their internet, I can have them give this guy a call instead of making excuses for myself.
...Windows 7 takes control of you!
I'm a teenager, you insensitive clod!
is a bunch of greedy dickhead lawyers. 'Nuff said.
Enjoyed reading your comments. Very intriguing, especially the bit about the groups.

It's been going on for quite a while, actually.

Did they find my little green friends yet? ;)

I'm glad Slashdot is here to educate me.
Businesses that actually work for their customers and not for money? When did that happen?
Make it two. That guy definitely has some balls. If only the rest of the ISP's thought like them...
What kind of drugs are you on? I want some mine gimme gimme.

It looks like the launch failed. Says the South Koreans. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7984254.stm

How can Bernard Madoff be allowed to run a 60B+ ponzi scheme?
MS is making a comeback. Win 7 looks great and even as a chrome/ff user I have to say that I'm attracted to IE8.
This is Slashdot, home of the penguin I know. But you have to give MS some credit. They're doing better.

Just my two cents.
Let me clear a few things. One, I didn't mean to say that Linux was a language. Two, Goldman infarct does have servers that run off Ubuntu.
Am I the only one who smells something fishy? Million dollar machines crashing into eachother? For the second time in a month? Somethings up.

Something to think about.
