Games for a long time have been known to have positive effects towards the user, instead of just negative. The things games do well as it says in TFA, they remove stress. I find it very helpful to come home after a long day and cool down with some PC gaming. It helps me unwind my brain.

AMD is going to need all the help they can get to compete with Intel. I'm happy to see articles like this floating around, because it at least means AMD is getting some publicity.

Look at it this way. If Intel wins, then the consumer loses. Why? Because if AMD goes under that would leave only Intel left in the desktop/server market which means they won't need to invest more money to make better processors since they have no competitor to force them to and this obviously results in slower chips.

AMD better do good with there new Phenom II chips, or else I don't see them along for much longer. ATI alone won't keep them going for long.

This is a bit "out there", but to be perfectly honest I'd rather use a laptop running VISTA over that silly Macbook Wheel. It will take me more time to type an e-mail on that thing, then it would to send an e-mail on Vista. This is what happens when Steve gets sick, Apple gets desperate for ideas.

This won't really help Linux win the desktop for one simple reason.

People who have the money to buy a new computer, have the money to buy a regular OS such as OS X or Windows. Ubuntu really isn't appealing to the common consumer.

This will help open-source programs greatly on the other hand. Instead of paying money to buy Microsoft Word, people will start to use programs such as Open Office. I'm sorry Linux Fanboi's. 2009 will not be the year that you win the desktop. It's pretty sad in my opinion though, I mean look at Ballmer. lol.

This is really sad. The US has a very high unemployment rate and people are struggling to find jobs. Some people are barely able to put bread on the table and Motorola wants to keep it that way? For what? A dispute with Blackberry? Screw you Motorola, you've just lost my business forever.

"The iPlayer is the BBC's online media player that lets viewers stream programmes for up to seven days after broadcast or download and watch them for up to 30 days." This seems like Hulu.com and Rhapsody combined. Which is an excellent idea.

Hulu lets you watch programmes that were brocasted on TV right onto your computer. Without the need for a TV Tuner or other extras.

Rhapsody lets you download those videos and put them on your iPod or other MP3 device. (Yes, some people do use Zunes...)

I'm going to install this on Ubuntu right now :)

    1. Volcano's and things alike emit more C02 gas then the entire human race.
    2. The Earth heats up on a cycle. It just so happens that in this point in time were on the warming part. If we were going into an ice age, I'm sure Al Gore would be saying "Save the dingos from the ice" instead of "Save the polar bears from the heat".

    Just my two cents.

Well, I don't know about this place but in my High School we use Windows, Linux and Open-source and the combo works great. I'm taking classes in a program called T.E.A.M.S (Technology Enriched Academy for Mathematics and Science) and we do basically any thing tech-related (on a freshman level). As far as OS's go, for some things we use XP (AutoCad and Visual Basic) and for others we use OS X (Anything media related). IMO you can't have just Linux or Just Windows, the combination of the two works great! But like I said, IMO. For a browser we use Firefox and Safari. I'm trying to convince my teachers to give Ubuntu 8.10 a go and it looks like we'll be installing it on some machines soon. Just my two cents :)
