Really? There are very few Android devices that do NOT have access to Android Market.
It is true that the devices need to meet certain requirements before they are allowed access etc and be blessed with everything Android, but as far as I know, almost all current Android devices (particularly phones) do this.
I dont understand. Each successive version so far is still 100% backwards compatible with all older versions. When you write an app, you have to specify the minimum SDK version you will support.
The only problem you might have is if you write an app that requires Android 2.1 - where many current Android phones have not yet been upgraded. But then as far as I know, the app wouldn't even show up on Android Market for phones running a previous version.
The "fragmentation" argument is just FUD in my opinion. I've yet to see it impact any Android apps (and yes I've written one, and am working on a 2nd one).
you may be joking, but have you seen the prices of canon / epson cartridges? The older HP ones used to include the print head with the cartridge, which made them expensive but the printers lasted a lot longer. The newer ones (the ones I'm aware of) have a separate print head more like canon and epson, making cartridges around the same price or in the case of my printer, much cheaper.
I found this as well - including the scanner (part of the printer).
Interestingly, the particular model I had was actually designed (or co-designed) by Canon, but the colour reproduction was far superior to equivalent canon models. Canon printhead technology etc, but HP firmware. It is a great printer for everyday use and a bargain due to the constant price drops...
You do realize that the whole time from when the change was implemented until you went and "opted out", your safe deposit box was right there on the sidewalk.
Once your data is outside of facebook, it is public. The terms only say what facebook can do with it, not what their third parties can do.
Not sure why you were modded down. The steps are reasonably accurate as far as I recall.
Anyway, I was on facebook for a few months, before deciding that I couldn't trust them any longer. When I closed the account I specifically requested that my data be deleted and I'm pretty sure they replied with an email to confirm if this was what I wanted. After doing what the email said, I assumed my data was deleted.
My profile wasn't public, and was no longer accessible to any of my facebook friends (who, weird as it may seem, were actually my friends in real life too - clearly I was doing it wrong).
I'd really like to join again to be a part of the fun on facebook (keeping up with distant friends etc) but I'm too scared to now. Their policies are becoming too dangerous...
hmmm I'll revisit your argument when the number of trees chopped down due to paper manufacturing drops below the number of new trees planted 5 years ago (ie. that are now reaching maturity - its no use going on new trees planted if those trees never grow to fully replace the trees that were chopped down).
oh dear. I happen know someone who sees the need to protect himself from his own germs on his keyboard...it does my head in...
so what, pray tell, will these dangerous germs do to me? I've yet to hear of the massive epidemic of people dying after using a keyboard. Given the numbers of keyboards in use, even at this moment, I should be expecting to hear of something pretty soon...
or maybe its like the ones on toilet seats? Gee I hope not many people use those...the germs are sure to spread fast otherwise...
I find it amusing and even funny that the people who worry most about this stuff are often the people who are always sick. A knowledge of germs is helpful, but avoiding them at all costs shows a lack of appreciation for how the immune system works...
wash hands after touching dirty/germy things yes but lets not get silly about it. Your keyboard likely does have lots of germs on it. dangerous? not so much.
why is parent modded flamebait instead of the "funny" this line gets in every other thread?
"I see you're writing a letter..."
or what about the sound windows makes when you plug in or unplug a usb device?

you dont need to ask, you have already been granted that permission by the copyright holders.
haha true. Not sure if you noticed, my comment was actually a take-off of the second post...

with permission from the copyright holders. There's the catch.

Could I please have your password?
um, assuming you have friends on facebook...and assuming your friends are happy to put up with all the bogus info you put on there...?!
if your friends can tell who the real you is, then I have no doubt facebook can too...

stop telling moderators how to moderate :P
You don't cut your car's brake line, and then complain when your breaks don't stop as expected.
you had me wondering what your post was all about, until the very end. I was reading it just wishing you'd explained it in terms of a car analogy...
and there it was.
Hey, you never know... they might use your app to approve your app!
and all other apps thereafter.
wait...are you SURE you haven't already submitted it?
you are correct. I did a quick google search to make sure my estimate was somewhere in the ballpark.
man, you need to learn some more jokes if you laughed that hard over this...
funny? maybe, but not side-splitting funny...

yeah but when you poke people they tend to get annoyed...oh wait...
hear hear :)
when they get it right its more by good luck than good management...
If you had good eyesight, you'd know :P
FPU is for floating-point. what about integer calculations?
hmmm, which is easier?
humans using silk or silk worms using chips (ie. circuitboards)?
