Argh! What the fuck does leveraged mean!? I was under the impression that it involves a lever and a pivot point. Yes, I know it's a buzzword, but this one is getting fucking ridicilous! Dictionary.com has nothing to correlate leverage and utility. Link. Next time advertisers and marketers decide to play buzzword bingo I hope they pick "Selma Hayek" as the buzzword of the month.

Man, I feel like an idiot for the following 3 reasons:
-first as you mention is that i'm blinded by the real problem -second, i misspelled spaghetti -and third, i missed an opportunity to use the é character in al-denté and show of my 1337 Mac skillz...
What if our idolatry has finally angered the FSM, and due to our overabundance of salty H2O, He's trying to raise the temperature so that He can make perfect al-dente noodles out of us!!????
At first I thought that I couldn't leverage the word "gifting", but after your nice explanation, I am quite puzzled. Are you saying that we now, can leverage "gifting" in the common every-day use?
i really doubt that halo2 will be exploding onto the PC market. I think we've all learned what to expect from a year-late ports of mediocre games.
and what exactly is it that halo2 will require that xp can't provide? is the engine more demanding than doom3 or source? thanks for selling out, again, bungie...
The original team fortress (not the original, original quake one, but halflife one) was my first serious team based game and i have many great memories playing it. but this whole hl2, but no tf2 experience has left me pretty raw towards valve. heck I was even willing to go along with their steam delivery, hoping that they'd deliver tf2 one of these days, but they've been dragging their feet too long.. in the mean time we've had the wonderful and free Wolfenstein: ET released, and the upcoming quake wars: ET, which should be the best game ever made...
i'm glad someone has the courage to tell valve that they've dropped the ball on this one.
no need to listen to fanboys, i am one. i used to have ATI all in wonder, and thought I could record TV and author DVDs with it. Wow, what a wake-up call that was... now that I switched to OS X i can burn a dvd, encode movies into h.264, at the same time, while running two instances of safari with multiple tabs open, azureus, photoshop and itunes open and playing. (i apologize to all the ie users whose head just exploded...)
that ATI experiment was such a crummy experience, i now use only nVidia for my gaming... (counting the days till quake wars comes out.)
Honestly can someone educate me on the matter? What does the EU comission really want? Cheap Windows? Crippled Windows?
Can't they just fine them for their monopolistic practices and get over it?
If one is to suggest they move to *X, then EU would complain, well that is too hard, we'd just rather stick with MS. And you don't need to talk to me about proprietary formats. I work for a state institution, and let me tell you, proprietary formats are the least of our worries and inefficiencies. I am also from Europe, so I don't have "Yankee's are the best" attitude either.
You know, I like my OS with a browser, media player and text editor (OS X). If EU has a problem with that, fine them or take your business elsewhere...
Might be a tad slow, but who says life has to run at our speed?
The news reporters who have had up to 2 semesters of science in their formal education. Have a little survey amongst your non-computer friends, and ask them if Moon has gravity...
You're right man. Don't listen to apollogists.. I hate MS as much as the next guy (Check my posting history), but you're right. EU has a choice of other OSs to use. But simply because they're unwilling to convert to *X, they try to make it easier on themselves by bending the rules.
Why doesn't Coke have to license their recepie? Maybe there really is some cocaine in there? Without a license we can never know!
Hi I work for the RIAA, and I don't understand what this is about? My brain explodes every time I read it, but we have a fresh supply of donor monkies. So could anyone give me a quick synopsis of how this one-dollar pay thingie works. Add supported synopsis is OK.
Glad you bring it up. The company that recently made a feature length HD movie "Pirates", agreed to allow for its distribution on empornium free of charge. Can you imagine any other studio doing something like that?

Lots of us on/. have "great" memories of coming in on weekends, staying overtime, or coming in early to deal with bugs, viruses and various problems caused by no fault of ours, but mainly due to holes we could not see or prevent. How does MS plan on restoring a serious security image with Vista, which does not seem to offer near the functionality or security of OS X or Linux? Apart from having a firm grasp on the OS market, due to previous monopoly tactics, what is MS doing to give us a better system than these two competitors

Most of the exploits that leveraged IE vulnerabilities to plant spyware were based on ActiveX and JavaScript, said Gribb.

Buying a windows machine for video encoding and DVD authoring is like buying a Mac for games.
