The device you mentioned is 100% thicker than iPad (1 inch vs.5), heavier 2.11 lbs vs 1.5, and a battery rated for only half the time of iPad's. (5 hours vs 10) Yes, to some of us looking at the form factor and how we'd use it, those things are well worth the price difference. Which is apparently only 50 bucks for that device you linked to.
It's like the stupid has invaded all corners of the web, but anyone that may find a nicely designed and built device with thousands of useful apps, well, useful is an iTard.
With apologies to a poster on one of the rumor sites, Bing is not a search engine, it is a decision engine.
But in all seriousness, the only reason why Apple would even consider doing this, is if Google already abandoned them elsewhere, and there are no signs of that. I'm pretty positive that Steve hates Microsoft, what it stands for, and the way it does its business. Pretty much like many Linux folks do. If he should allow for this, I'll eat my shorts. (Figuratively!)
Has fraunhofer institute elaborate how they intend on recouping their cost for this EMP technology? By each machine or by each hole punched? Their record with MP technology is somewat shaky, to pardon the pun.
Splash damage developed wolfenstein:enemy territory and quake wars:enemy territory. The enemy territory is a type of team based, objective driven multiplayer FPS that has a dedeicated following. much like it's roots, the team fortress, one can be a member of a class, such as medic, engie, heavy, or sniper. (there's also an artillery support class) While quake wars was not promoted heavily by activision, and due to the permanent ranking system it was full of stat farmers, it was still a great game. Splash damage guys are very friendly, often interacting with fans on their forums and irc. I look forward to another ET game from SD.
linux supports ldap. certainly doesn't have the gpo capabilities of AD, but it is good enough for user management. (not an expert on linux, i'm a mac admin...)
Actually, Beck's program is *not*on during fox's scheduled slot for news programs. As pointed out by John Stewart a few nights ago. So you can pretend to call it news, (Beck's fans are good at pretending many a things), but the reality says otherwise.
Even if Verizon doesn't refer to it as the iPhone killer, all the pundits and bloggers hungry for pagehits, will. This only helps advertise iPhone and is detrimental to Verizon phone's introduction. (Notice that no one is talking about the new "Windows phone" either.)
Yeah, but they're keeping a lot of artist employed, creating those pretty images and their impressions everyone keeps posting instead of actual images.
First we build and test a good image on a machine for a couple of weeks. Then we either use that image,if it was correct the first time, or build a new one from it if it required touching up. We use Apple's free Disk Utility which comes free with all macs.
We then get about 10 - 15 firewire drives and copy that image on them. (You have to make sure the drives are bootable, you can actually deploy that same image onto the drive itself.) Then we line up 10-15 machines and use again the Disk Utility to image them. Depending on the size of the image, just about the time you have the next 10-15 unboxed and set up (very easy to do since they're all all-in-ones), the first batch is ready. Works for us, but then again, our schedule is flexible and we can afford a couple of days of leisurely imaging.
Oh, yeah, and if you do have an image you can also work with Apple, they'll preload it on for you.
Man we can do this all day...

Dan Brown posts to slashdot!?
I gotta admit that was a compelling little narrative.
good insight
It's late and I'm tired, but what they're saying is, if you be Puffin, you be flying high?
I'm down with that.

You're leaching the letters like the Chinese leach the cadmium.

And tomorrow, Cisco will announce a similar but unrelated product called iSlate!
They could revive Newton, or iBook. But it seems that a Slate is also a revival of an earlier product.
Heey, DX33? What kind of a Pentium is that?
We're still screwed, if it takes no less than a president to enact something as commonsensical as this.
Still, though, go for it big O!

now you're fucking with their bread and butter.
This was my idea.
Come on guys, this is not rocket science!

Well... What's it called?
"500 iFarts"

Kudos to the driver and the team, but that thing is a motorcycle in spirit only.
Can the definition of a motorcycle include an enclosed cockpit?

Your sig line is ironic in relation to your post.
The users aren't stupid if they are confused by what looks like a legitimate warning telling them to update their virus-scanner.
