You sir, are the very reason that artists and carpenters go hungry these days! You should be ashamed of yourself and your swashbuckling, DVD-modifying, group!
For the newbies, we should mention that between the steps "Grab XP" and "spend an hour customizing it" there's also a "spend two hours patching it" step.
I like to throw in an occasional one-two-one skip every time I go out for a run. It reminds me of my childhood. And what do you do in case you come across a puddle? Run around it? Pfft, much easier to skip over it IMHO.
What we have nowdays is pop-punk. (I still cringe every time I say/hear that) Greenday, good charlotte, avril and co. are fooling themselves and their fans if they're thinking they're punkers.
I didn't read the article, of course, but would you really want to be slaving away for so long, feeding the upper class? Or how many losses could you cope with? Imagine that your significant other dies in a crash, 50 years later your child is killed, and another one commits suicide? And then your second significant other leaves you. I dunno, maybe I'm too pessimistic, but it's not all rosy if everyone can live that long...
Of course they will, with the cheapass dell hardware and the efficient new microsoft OSes, the computers will work just as well as the nonexistant IBMs, and their uptime will be just as good!
The bit about: Please note, this software is experimental, it is not for the faint of heart, if you are concerned for the well being of your iPod you probably shouldn't proceed any further!
now, if you're not concenred about the device on which you just spent 300 bucks on, maybe you'd like to send me 300 bucks?
why thank you. yes, i get annoyed by the pointdexters too (...no shit, Einstein...)
looks like the mods picked up on it too:)
And Come on Eileen is a play on words meaning "ejaculation of male sperm on a person (presumeably female) called Eileen"
It's called subtle humor. Every now and then it works...
What good is a porn movie, one of the better ones to be sure, on a device that can't play it?
For once, slashdot posts news for nerds, and perhaps this story does matter, yet I have no clue what it all means...
OK, thanx for clarification, I see it was developed by the MPEG and ITU.
man, this makes me mad, the fact that some mod felt the need to interrupt on our funny discussion...

I'm a republican, so I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're saying, but those sound like fighting words to me!
does that mean that they'll have to pay Apple's licensing fees for every phone they sell?
hahaha, won't the alpha centaurians be quite surprised when I announce that I own their whole system and I am their new overlord!
hahaha

Just my 2 cents...
Punk is dead.
What we have nowdays is pop-punk. (I still cringe every time I say/hear that) Greenday, good charlotte, avril and co. are fooling themselves and their fans if they're thinking they're punkers.
Crazy hair and eyeshadow a punker do not make.
Sorry it's offtopic...

sweet!
what are the stipulations on its use? (i'm at work so i can't really check it out)
dude, you're way offtopic with comments like that.
how would you rather mod it? funny? or gasp! offtopic?

Ok, i just spent 300 bucks on an iPod, and this book is telling me that now i can run cLinux on it?
What else, they'll try to sell me a bridge?
Don't you just plug it in, synch it, and take around with you, so you can listen to music, and carry data around (data/calendar)?
Wouldn't it make more sense to buy some tunes instead of the book?
I believe that it would be fair to say that we are all in the dark regarding this issue.
Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week.
Why just last week I was developing applications with an Opinionated Camel, and it was hell.
Hell, I tell ya.
This has got to be the most nerdy story on /. ever.
From the pointless intro to the behemoth and ultimately irellevant summary.
wow..
I knew DnD community was nuts, but to publish a 700 page review on /. is just insane!
I can just imagine the little girl laughing at you 10 years later when it came time for prom.
a/s/m?
