I pulled that link in about 10 seconds of google but I'm sure /. and others have better links. Please please read the news once and awhile so you know why people are upset about privacy going bye bye and the myth of "if you have nothing to hide..." Even if you won on appeal, you still have years of your life with the added stress of a young child ruined.

  3. Re:Fundementally broken system on Sony: 10 Million Credit Cards May Have Been Exposed · · Score: 1

lol, the system is already hard on businesses. All a customer has to do is call and say he didn't buy the gift cards or even tickets at a movie theater and unless we can produce a receipt with a signature it's our loss. I had to handle this at a theater. Keep in mind this means we have to file and store 1000s of receipts. and Often we just consider it a Cost of doing business and take the loss. Of course there are people that will come to the movies every weekend for 4 weeks straight and call their CC company every time and lie to get the money back, that is the only time we really try to stop them. Of course the rest of the customers hate us for demanding ID's to use CC's. Fact is Credit cards give consumers more protection then cash

In fantasy land, all TV's going forward should be net-linked and ALL cableTV lines across the country converted to extra internet bandwidth. Also after they collapse anyways, I bet they demand a bailout.

Futhermore, this is one of those things you shouldn't give a inch on, it's only a small step now to track 'dissidents' that go to mosques or Democratic party meetings, gay/lesbian support groups, etc. Of course, it will only hurt the innocent, as the bad guys wouldn't be dumb enough to keep this.

Ridge Racer!! etc.

They lack the management skills and organization to execute a network and realize it's value. For reference see all the other problems Sony has had

Keep telling yourself that. Most desktops are at the office, where we use word processing, and industry specific tools, and accounting software and email all run on windows all linked through Microsoft server software. Then we go home to our hobbies, video games, itunes, email again, tax software, adobe, and we all choose to run it on windows because it's easier. One of the worst things you can do in a competition is lie to yourself about how well it is going. Or get too involved in your own world. Of course everyone around you is using linux, and you try not to think about those other people too much. It's some form of confirmation bias. He is disregarding facts to the contrary, while he keeps reminding himself of the facts that don't disagree with his views. This is not productive

Thats all I pretty much use it for. I can keep it on the shelve for over a week with no charging. It's adoptable enough so when we get there, you can mount a 2d one on the fridge for recipes, fridge inv, calender. I know we have mounts now, but they are too expensive. This is more practical then a remote networked screens or adding a computer to the fridge because it would have to be a specialized device, that you would have to upgrade in a few years. Finally we have a device small and easy enough that with the right software you can put it anywhere and average person would know how to use and set it up. Much different from calling in help to setup a network then calling every-time it goes down, or buying a All-n-one-PC, that would still need to be set-up and the right software set-up. This is a important distinction from a techy device to a device Raphael supermarket will one day have a big enough market to develop a shopping app for with barcodes to scan from the fridge. But for now, it's easier to look stuff up on it then a smart phone. The screen is bigger. When I don't know what something mentioned on TV is, seeing a definition and 10 good sized pictures is much faster and more helpful to learning then a cell phone screen. It has other uses as well but what you can't do is pretend it's a keyboard-less laptop, it's something very else indeed.
