Often these phones charge by the minute. Will they charge you for banner adds you are subjected to as opposed to content we willfully download. I'm not paying $0.10 to download another "shop at E-bay" banner. Not to mention the blazing speed at which these phones go anyway.
"But with the upcoming release of the GUI Managers and the rising number of pre-installed Linux boxen, I think we're getting closer. " Actually that makes sense....plural of ox = oxen.....hmmm I wonder if he really meant it that way
I suggest a change in typing style. Two shots of whiskey will help you loosen up your hands and reduce risk of injury (as well as help you ignore the pain should you actually injure yourself, not to mention get those creative juices flowing). Now beware, more than two shots is inadvisable. Risk of serious injury falls to nearly zero after two shots but soars to 99.99% after 7 or so shots. (you'd never believe how much damage a trayloading CDRom can do to your hands, and 21" monitor juggling can seem like a great idea at the time). Well thats my $0.02 (sadly they're the 2 cents that I owe)
Maybe circumstances keep us from a social life. I am a college student enrolled in Electronic Engineering. I study hard and rarely have time to go out to the movies or many parties. I am always near my computer and can chat on it while I do my homework. When I am doing my homework I couldn't be out anyways so it's not really taking away from my social life. Aww who am I kidding. My car broke down and instead of getting it fixed I just bought an 18.2 gig scsi drive for my linux box. I eat ramen for a month to be able to afford the latest and greatest GeForce 256 (soon to be replaced with the Voodoo5 6000). I guess I'm just a nerd. Well at least I'm in the right place right?
Just imagine. The lovely grunt bride is slowly walking down the isle. Everyone hears that familiar "oh my god someone just got quad" sound. Since at weddings people line up the first shot is quad rail. Second would be a bfg just to clear the room then some chaingun to clean up the scragglers. Yeah this is a disaster waiting to happen. (How are they gonna kiss? all the actions I've seen grunt do is grab his crotch and flip you off. hmmm)
If one of us submitted this useless dribble it would be rejected...likewise if we posted it as a comment we would be moderated down or receive replies like "duh"...so my response is "DUH!" I don't dislike Jon Katz I'm just still waiting for a quality post from him. Maybe we'll get one when he starts to understand we don't care so much what he believes. Moderate me down...make me cry...see if I care.
Large corporations have recently been under fire from both the media and consumers about trading practices and frivolous lawsuits. From the DOJ vs. Microsoft lawsuit to the WTO Seattle incident. It seems like this area is about to explode. Who do you see winning? (Not just this battle but the whole war.) Are large corporations important enough to be allowed to stomp on the rights of the people? (p.s. we're all behind ya kid)
I know you're all skipping this one just cause of the title, but I have a point. Lets say theres something you've done forever. You're so used to it that you are blind to other ways of doing things. If you're so used to digging through menu after menu then you might be surprised by a UI that is actually intelligent. The old saying certainly applies here "can't see the forest for the trees". The people I have actually introduced to linux were surprised how quickly they picked it up. I hardly ever hear "Why the hell did they do it like that?!?" like I do on windows boxes. well thats my slightly short of two cents
Again a young person with real skills is persecuted for his application of knowledge. He did not steal, cheat or harm anyone. Okay so he hacked. But it was the kind of hacking we should promote not stomp into the dirt of ignorance. Taking clocks apart to see what makes them tick. Building cool things out of legos. This is where it all starts. Where would the world be without people like this? What if Isaac Newton hadn't discovered gravity where would we all be?? I'll tell ya...probably on the moon or just floating around (on the plus side we could jump really high). This boy obviously has a decent understanding of the processes involved, give him a job. You shouldn't prosecute him for non-malicous code that he's already written. Ridiculous.

But it will probably replace my friends for a month or two.
