That's what it used to be called. Just because the majority want it or not want something can be a factor, but watch what you wish for. Think about 1942 , west coast, being of Japanese ethnic origin. You too could be tomorrows NON-majority.
Methinks it reveals a lack of basic science education, or they have a sense of humor, not sure which.
I am somewhat taken aback by the number of people who even consider it remotely possible, speaks well of our schools. Now about this phlogiston stuff...
"Shouldn't we let that take place before we fry them in oil?"
What I don't know and have really little desire to put much effort into finding out, is why they are doing it. Were they bored and need a good laugh or is it a profit makeing effort?
They left out one of simplest antivirus ploys, switch to Linux. Not a mention of it. I was disappointed in their report, it seemed like it should have appeared in Parade or People Magazine.
May they crumble to dust as they richly deserve. Had a TIVO for one day. Would not control any on my Dish receivers. It only does IR, all here are UHF controlled. and you can't use it with out their subscription.
Freight does complain about bumpy track. Rough track causes problems and any RR with proper management keeps there mainlines in VERY good repair. Derailments are expensive. Scattering 50 containers across the Arizona landscape is bad for business.
However there is no money in passengers for the railroads, at least in the West. Coal and containers are what make money. Passengers trains can wait , and do. For a look at the sophistication of the RR traffic management , look in the current issue of TRAINS. The article on the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
I have been fighting it for a couple of weeks. I wanted to use it for VMware. It seems VMware does not like the startup directories of Slack. After a couple of weeks of messing with it ( gettting the obvious to work, FTP, telnet, etc ) I have creamed grub and it now does not boot. (the documentation for GRUB reads like something from the Delphic Oracle) .
Do I boot with Knoppix and try and repair or.....? Right now it's time for coffee.
A Slackware fan. NB; Still have not quite figured out how to replace VIM with vi.
I looks like there will need to be some curtailment of ham activies. Someone has to stop the guy with a kilowatt on 40 next to the power line. A longwire parallel to the powerlines would feed quite a bit into them. What effect would packet or highspeed CW cause? Which would be the "protected service"?
I seem to remember the first diesels were designed to run on powdered coal mixed with oil. Didn't work too well, cinders, needed special coal etc... Actually a "true" diesel likely would run on veg oil or lots of other flameable substances. You need a substance that when blasted onto the cylinder (by an high pressure air blast) that wont burn to quickly. It needs to burn not explode.
Any one else think the Justice Dept may not bless this "marriage"? In a market of three, the two biggest merge. It looks like an Xmass present for an anti trust lawyer.
Or in the style of the article; It looks like a Xmass presence four a anti trusting lawyer.
I would not get too liberal with it, while some think it smells nice (Packers Pine Tar Soap) , most "tars" tend to have nasty things in them (carcinogens, poisons, etc).

What's this? Maybe this only concerns people who have or are infected with a "google tool bar".
Following the law is not a "misjudgement".
This , I think assumes US tv. Does it work with clasical music, Canadian French TV, would it work on The National?
Realise that he gets a nice pay check to say this sort of thing.
He may have to stomp on his consceince every so often, but I bet it pays well.
Well, in firefox's case that would probably mean forking it since the development team has a chronic case of featuritis

Think about that for awhile.
And they got /. to run it for them.
Kinda like the one recently about Snapper lawn mowers.
I think the term "puff piece" applies here.

Few people on the east coast know we're here.
Sort of the same reason New Mexico license plates have USA on them.

Were the RTTY machines aboard a WWII destroyer a "portable machine"?

'Thrown' instead of 'throne',
Hey, at least they didn't use "WC".
Sound like a movie rating.

Being a resident of Oregon , after reading the article, I sent a brief note to my congress critter Mr Smith. Have you done the likewise?
You suppose sawdust could be considered an alternative fuel?
NB: Actualy is was; Grew up in houses heated by sawdust and worked at a university that was heated by hogd fuel (chopped wood waste).
The students will next tackle the problem of fomulating a concrete that will withstand the inpact of the improved mug.
