The advice of see an eye professional is the start. Consider a pair of glases just for the computer. They can be cheap single correction plastic. Keep you from having to tilt you head when you get bifocals, (and you will).
Always use a high refresh rate. much below 72hz will give you a headache.
When and if you have cataracts removed be aware that you can change the correction needed for your eyes. The eyes do not have to be the same either. For instance, I had mine corrected so I could see up close without glasses, distance vision requires a correction. Most people do the opposite , correct the far vision and wear glasses for close work. You could get a correction that works on the computer and wear glases for far and up close, lot of combinations.
Final note; when the time comes, don't wait to remove cataracts, it's time wasted. I wish I had had it done sooner.
Did I miss it or was the slackware result not mentioned? From my experience slack is the easiest to put on an old box. Most current versions of Linux cann't seem to handle low res video during the install. I don't know about version 10.1 but 10 installs nicely on 200mhz pentium for use as a firewall.
Can broadband really be put in 90 mhz? Consider that a SD tv channel is 6 Mhz. Now NTSC tv is not the most efficeint use of 6 MHz , but HD TV takes even more. How many people each wanting 1-10 MHz of bandwidth can you fit in this space?
I complained about memory, couldn't handle the monitor (buttons were off screen). Yes it's old equipment, K5 AMD slack installs easily and run well on it.
> And all this time I thought Greenwich was in south London. The things you learn on/..
One puzzle left; Why is GMT (Greenwich mean time) based on a small area of NYC? It is after all 5 time zones away from the prime meridian. seems strange.
This kinda seems to be what he was talking about.
Why do it? it a lot like the subject line.
If done anywhere well it is quite fine to drink. My wine of choice in late Nov and Dec. Drink it fresh & drink it often, yum.

I Western Oregon we usually have a choice between 4-5 makers. Buy one of each , find which is best, buy, drink, repeat

Merganthaler was one of those types.
Note to moderator; Find connection between subject and Mergenthaler. Hint; they hung out in newspaper offices and other places.
Don't do any of your own wiring. Hire an electrician, unless your wife needs the life insurance money.
Signals can leak out of the line , yes. What is going to keep them out? Will a guy with a beam pointed at the wire with a kilowatt on CW do anything?
How much longer is this patent good for?
They do expire.
Maybe you just want to compare the two, but be aware that others exist.
I have always liked FVWM, for qualities that unique to it. YMMV
I don't realize that I was not supported.
Does this mean I have to quit using it?
Don't tell the ones in the trees that they can't fly, it'll freak 'em out.
