    I have had the JVM crap out on me multiple times when programming in JAVA- I have never encountered a failure or SINGLE runtime bug in .NET.

    I gave up a promising career in chemistry when they hired an East Indian PHD for 35k a year to work in the hood next to me. (this was in the early 90s)

    Soon after I left the plant was closed down and manufacturing moved to another country.

    I have noticed huge differences in UI responsiveness in chrome compared to FF. The difference was enough to make me switch and I have been using FF for years.

    There are all kinds of ways to farm cattle. Here in New Mexico they are allowed to graze on multi-thousand acre ranches.

    Who knows what side effects may show in these animals? Tromping down fences- or perhaps a fearlessness that would be dangerous to farmers.

    I don't think anyone planning this project ever believes that this chemical laser will make it into service(the logistics are horrible)- however the aiming and mirroring systems will and solid state lasers should 'snap in'

    I am not really proposing this for overclocking, just something simple that keeps you cpu cool enough so you don't need a fan.

    I always thought it would be a good idea to use a copper strap to connect the cpu heatsink to the case which would act as a huge heatsink. Has anyone tried this?

    Being poor is most likely to shorten your life expectancy and we have gutted most of the manufacturing in our rural communities. I suspect this has more to do with these areas life expectancy than government funding, education or anything else.
