I can read fine. I read several quotes from Jobs and Rubenstein that the ipod phtoto won't do video, it is the wrong device for that. What is the point of putting video on a portable device if you cannot watch it on that device? Devices already exist to stream video from your PC to your TV wirelessly (Philips Stremium, maybe others). I would think that Apple would create an equivalent device to the Streamium rather than hack some sort of half-assed video functionality into the ipod.
You need an extra processor for the parity calculations of a RAID 5 setup. most RAID cards have an Intel i960 processor on board for this purpose. You could use the CPU for these calculations, but then you might as well just use software RAID.
Well, Replay is essentially dead. D&M Holding's plans for it are to sell out the current inventory, combine with Escient, continue with premium branded products (Denon) and seek to license the software. At least this was their plan from 5/20/04, it may have changed since then. You can read their forecast here.
Wow, they must have changed the LeMans to one big long straight road then since the Corvette won the '01,'02,and '04 LeMans GTS class. Not to mention a ton of other GTS victories.
Netflix does not carry pr0n or import anime. They do carry domestically released anime. They also will carry UR videos such as the unrated version of requiem for a dream. I am unfamiliar with Blockbuster's service to comment on wether they carry any of this.
They used to carry softcore porn several years ago but stopped.
There has always been super cheap ($30) video cards available in the US. Perhaps they just aren't getting to Europe for some reason. just look at pricewatch.com, there are many listings for very low priced cards from various vendors.
What part of "This is different from the usual Slashdot interview because we're asking you to submit questions through the New Voters Project site instead of as comments attached to this post." would give you that impression?
They are probably just trying to make the device as cheap as possible. so they choose wma over AAC since wma is much cheaper to license and ogg is free.
The definitive collection looks very good. You should be cautious however if you decide to purchase this set as it has some flaws in early pressing (several seconds of missing footage) and has a tendency to rot.
A good alternative are the THX "faces" disks. it uses the exact same print that the definitive collection uses. I haven't heard of any widespread rot problems with these. These are CLV discs so in theory the picture will be slightly worse than the definitive collection discs. Also not many extras, just an interview at the end of each film.
Well I guess that is the danger of group think. I personally love nVidia because they offer good Linux support. Don't care if they open the drivers up or not as long as they stay good.
I wouldn't. The thing is that proprietary drivers and no documentation are against the principles of F/OSS. If I had to recommend a graphics card, it would be ATI radeon 8500 which works well with Free drivers (accelerated OpenGL etc.)
Well, I don't give a shit about F/OSS principles, I just want to use the card. I do hope that you tell the person you are recommending the 8500 to that you are only recommending it for ideological reasons and that an Nvidia card would actually perform much better.
An ink cartridge is a consumable part. The consumable parts on a Benz (oil filter, air filter, brake pads, tires, gas, etc) are all available from 3rd party manufacturers. Try again.
Uh, well apple refuses to license the DRM tech of the ipod to its competitors thus keep the entire ipod market to themselves. Sounds pretty abusive to me.

ipod photo does not play movies. It only works with photos.
Well, that Boss is most likely breaking the law. Nearly every state mandates at least 2 hours off for voting.

You are perfectly free stop working at anytime. Thus this is not even slightly comparable to slavery.
You can get much more information about Yellowstone's volcanos from the Yellowstone Volcanoe Observatory website.

Huh? Is a $20 video card too much money for you?
The 120W figure is for the entire system not just the video card.

Actually it is $0.50 per channel. so a stereo capable device will require a $1.00 fee.

No, everything is pretty standard in the US also except the solar panels.
The general idea is that the house was designed with the goal of 0 net energy use.

I like Linux. I can't use it unless I am a disciple of the OSS religion?
It is also twice as expensive (MSRP of $399).
Nvidia never had an 8 pipeline card before this. The NV3x cards had 4.

So I gather you thought it was OK for Lexmark to chip their printers to only accept Lexmark created cartridges then?
