So how did you play Pac-Man, which is basically impossible to play with analog sticks (you miss turns)?
Commodore did later develop an analog mouse for use with GEOS 64 and 128 and Amiga. And you're right it was nice for flight sims and such but the D-stick or D-pad was best for arcade games
And this ("laws written by lobbyists") is why I don't think corporations should have free speech rights. They can have revocable *privileges* to run ads but should never have the right to hire, for example, a Microsoft lobbyists or RIAA lobbyists to block-out the voice of the people in the halls of Congress. Or to run ads to support their favorite puppet for Congress. The corporations have no more rights than a building.
If Bill Gates or the RIAA CEO wants to lobby, let them hire the lobbyist from his personal salary, rather than using the corporation's billon-dollar treasury.
1) Shoot the civilians with gusto. Get promoted, work your way up through the ranks, and come to an unhappy ending in 20 years. 2) Refuse to follow orders. Your boss eventually figures out that too many civilians are escaping under your watch and says "You're not doing your job. It's not merely legal to shoot. It's illegal not to shoot", and throws you in jail for the next 20 years. You're released from prison in post-reunification as a broken old man. 3) Figure out how few civilians you can shoot and still keep yourself out of jail - both during the course of your 20-year career with the DDR border patrol, and during the post-reunification era.
The horror of totalitarianism isn't the psychopath gleefully massacring civilians, nor is it the heroic figure who stands up for his beliefs only to find himself in front of a firing squad. They've found a way to make it worthwhile, but heroes and villains are both outliers.
The horror of totalitarianism is that it makes life downright miserable for the 99.999% of us poor schmucks who spend their lives as nervous wrecks trying to avoid the outliers on either end of the ethical spectrum. Impress that upon a kid, and you might change his thinking: It's not 20 years of "How much good can I get away with before getting caught?", but "What's the minimum amount of evil I have to do today to avoid being tortured or killed?"
>>>It's more like threating to find a knife and slice you up, which is and definitively should be a crime.
But isn't. The SCOTUS made several ruling in the 60s and 70s that "I'm gonna kill you" threats are protected political speech, unless the person is actually armed.
Anything used to remove or weaken a tyrant is a tool for freedom. Like the bombing of Hitler's bunker. The guillotining of the french king. The uprising, breaking-in, and eventual gunning down of Dictator Nicolae Ceausescu.
Or if you prefer nonviolent examples: Ghandis protests against the British tyranny. Or MLK's protesting against unfair anti-black tyranny in the US. MLK broke a lot of laws but eventually won. Better to fight back with harmless but effective methods that continue to be run-over like a bug .

"From time to time the Tree of Liberty must be watered with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration
One of our founders advocated killing as a means of preserving liberty. "I put a bomb in your office" is a minor thing compared to that, but an effective one when dealing with tyrants that abuse innocent civilians & treat them like serfs
"PAY UP BASTARD 5000 DOLLARS OR WE'S GONNA DRAG YOUR ASS TO COURT." - that's the essence of what RIAA/MPAA s mailing to millions of people. Yes I consider that use of terror.
>>>The items being infringed...are recent works that would have fallen under the original 14 year copyright
Proof please. I'm watching a show now that would be public domain under the old law. Ditto the 70s music I'm currently streaming. I think you made a false presumption
Yes. Have less babies. I calculated that if we limited ourselves to just 1 baby per family, US population would drop from 320 to 50 million within 80 years. Fewer people == approximately 1/5th less CO2 released to the air
On the Atari 5200/SuperSystem (really A400 computers without keyboards). In an era when everything was digital (like Pac-man and Dig Dug) having analog sucked.
The Civil Rights Movement did break some "just" rules however, like those limiting demonstrations to only "free speech zones" and/or off public streets.
A person commits an offence if-- (a)he publishes a statement to which this section applies or causes another to publish such a statement; and (b)at the time he publishes it or causes it to be published, he-- (i)intends members of the public to be directly or indirectly encouraged or otherwise induced by the statement to commit, prepare or instigate acts of terrorism or Convention offences; or (ii)is reckless as to whether members of the public will be directly or indirectly encouraged or otherwise induced by the statement to commit, prepare or instigate such acts or offences.
I'm glad I don't live in th UK (or EU in general). If I did I'd probably be arrested multiple times over for my anti-government/ pro-"killing tyrants like mussolini is acceptable" statements.
By that logic we should stop allowing private ownership of knives. It only takes one nutcase to cross that thin line between butchering a cow and stabbing a human.
Or we could just accept the fact that 0.001% of humans are nutters and will do stupid stuff regardless, so there's no point punishing the other 99.999% of sane persons who use various tools responsibly.
>>>A DDoS is not so bad, but a bomb threat? There is no justifying it.
Disagree. I think a bomb threat is no big deal either. And it accomplished the goal (costs the assholes.... oops I mean the lawyers one day of nonproductivity). Now if they used an actual bomb... then yes they crossed the line.
BUT where I live (70% democrat), the second-party can't win either. It might be worthwhile to vote republican at the congress or governor level, but there's no point throwing-away my vote on a Republican presidential candidate who is doomed to lose.
>>>If it's between a candidate who I agree with on 100% of the issues but can't do anything about them, and a canidate who agrees with me on 50% of the issues but is effective at getting legislation passed, then I'm probably going to have to vote for the guy I only half agree with. >>>
So how's that working out for you?
For me, if I had voted for the major candidate, it would have sucked. (We got over-regulation from Clinton, warmonger/spyer Bush, and national socialist Obama.)
No my solution is not to show the secret weapon (antibiotic) to the enemy (bacteria), so they don't have an opportunity to develop a counter-measure. Only use the antibiotic as a last resort to kill a stubborn infection, and only for human beings.

thank u
It just occurred to me that since my laptop is old (~1700 MHz), I should probably just sell it on ebay for cash

Another game they forgot was one of the first Graphical online games. An early form of Sims or Ninteodo's "Mii"'s but in 1985:
HABITAT aka CLUB CARIBE
(LucasFilms)(hosted by AOL for Commodore)

Yeah but if there's no sunlight, what do you feed the batteries... I mean humans.
"Dead bodies."
And what happens when you run-out of dead bodies in ~20 years time?
Or non-athletic - being nonactive I produce far less CO2 than those jocks.

It looks green to me. (I'm using the classic index.)
Soooo..... should I upgrade to 10.1 or stay with the three-year "long term support" of 10.0?
