Long-winded 'explanations' of the code in the application's comments (that is, the ones that read like excuses), indicate that the developer probably didn't understand what he was doing.'

Does this mean that if someone informs a vendor of a bug in their software they immediately have to prevent all downloads and inform retailer to remove the product from their shelves until the bug is fixed and replacement software can be shipped ?
Does anyone have a link to the full text of these guidelines ?
On the subject, Firefox 3.5 was out a week back, but I don't see it anywhere in the Ubuntu reps. Does anybody know why? and how long it'll take?
I'm running it now in Ubuntu. Just install Firefox-3.5 from universe. After that I found the easiest way to make it default was to change the/usr/bin/firefox symlink to point to/usr/bin/firefox-3.5

In other (related) news, Slashdot today allowed me to disable all the ads on the site, simply for occasionally moderating an not posting stupid crap all the time. I was using adblock anyway but this removes the blank space and allows the content to expand into the areas the ads used to occupy.
Nice article. As I was reading it I was all ready to disagree and post here complaining that you didn't include the AGPL, but there it was on page 4. So thanks for introducing this license to so many that didn't know of it's reasons for existence.
Just so you know, if you install the Homebrew Channel on your Wii, you can play SCUMMVM games from it. I recently played through Day of the Tentacle on the Wii and it was glorious.
YouTube doesn't want to invest the time and money to perform their due diligence, but expects copyright holders to do it for them.
Yeah, and Slashdot should pay someone to read every post submitted by its users to verify that it doesn't contain copyrighted material. This post for example contains a blatant copy of part of your copyrighted post. This should be referred to Slashdot's specialist copyright lawyers to determine whether I've overstepped fair use, before making my post readable by the public.

Hey lets wrap the whole solar system in this stuff so less advanced aliens can't spy on us.
That's just contradiction. He came here for an argument.
Watch the video until the end, there's a brilliantly funny presentation about the semantic web that you wont want to miss.

Thus demonstrating that Apple don't always innovate, they copy good ideas too.
We stopped showing that one off when the State of the Art demo came out :)

Also some of the large adventure games did use the OS. I had Beneath a Steel Sky installed to the hard disk for example.
No only that, but leave duct tape alone. It's an excellent way of holding things together. I'd trust your life to the stuff.

You perhaps read this, and you're not the only person to want one. This guy also built one, and perhaps we should too.

They are pretty much equivalent organisations.
Furthermore, there is actually no solid evidence that the future exists
There is now.
