well... Linux is still a multi-user operating system, hence a need to have more than one kind of a program be loadable. And terminals are not kitchen sinks, they're bathrooms. I have two bathrooms in my house, because at one time there were 7 people living here. Now that three of my brothers are married, I prefer to bath in just one of them, but my mom likes the other better, Hence Linux and the PC is the house.
However, if its for a PC that only one person will use, perhaps an installation that would ask you for one app of a kind to install for each app where there are more than one, would be nice (with a check-box to over rule the only one app of a kind for each kind)
Because it takes much less time and space when you read/write it. If you learn kanji, you can read waaaay faster.
Anyway, China has no syllabary, and they have in use waaaay more kanji than Japan, and doesnt seem to be too much of a problem for them.
(Note I said "too much". I am aware that there are some problems like incompatibilities in such a big country with so many people, and that chinese kanji is being simplified).
kuro ame is a b/w movie about a woman that got struck by the black rain after the bomb in hiroshima. According to the director (if im not wrong and remember well) It was filmed ib b/w because it would have been too gross to do it otherwise.
No, there are some very good works. Particularily, hotaru no haka (grave of the butterflies) talks the very short story of two orphaned kids. I found it its not as sad as kuro ame (black rain, or maybe death rain) wich is not an anime, but treats the same topic (in other context).
the best defense is the attack, so if they saturate your A/B/C network, then saturating the Internet is the obvious right solution.
Of course its not, it would do much more harm to many more innocent people.
The right solution is to educate people so that their PC's doesnt get inffected with worms and the like so they dont unknowingly contribute to DDOS.
Of course, the right is almost always the hard way and most people doesnt want to care about ignorant people so... we're in a vicious cycle here, just as in anything else.

If someone went there to see the new scenes of ET and found out they have been cut off after getting it, he has some right to be angry, and get back his money if there was no mark as to what was cut off.

But the first movie was really bad, imho. To LOTR, the wors thing done was ripping out Glorfindel and putting Arwen in its place, and THAT phrase "If you want him, come and claim him". Agh! But what they did to the first HP (not Hewlett Packard btw, as in IP doesnt mean Internet Protocol any more) book... ouch. hope this one is better and more truthfull to the story and the book. PS. I still am one of those poor guys with 56K modem connection and with no QT plugin. Anyone knows if there is a downloadable version somewere?
Any one knows if an upgrade from the rpm's will replace Gtk+ 1.x rpms?
I really want to try it, but dont have a very good computer nor enough space (unless someone can tell me how to use a FAT partition as if it were ext2, so i can execute there) and not a fast processor either.

sorry about the time, but i just read this once. Now i know i can see which posts got replied... But you presume that Windows is unstable....so how is it that the games are stable? When it crashes, how do you know it's windows and not blizzard's games. Thats a good point. But Diablo has never crashed me or made windows crash either. thats why. And, when windows crashes, there is the need of restarting the OS, and the well known blue screen. When the app crahses, you only need restart the app.

I always thought games would be run stand-alone on an X-server.
