Unless people have smart phones and tablets and don't have a need for a new computer or one that's vary fast or useful, as all of the PC manufacturers and Microsoft had been predicting for years. Far be it from me to keep anyone from bashing windows 8, but who wants a tablet on a PC? Its the less efficient interface that does not utilize the space on the screen appropriately and slows down navigation and usability in the Mouse and keyboard scenario. So why would it be a desire of normal users to use the less efficient interface on the desktop, unless the future for users is to digress their usefulness of a computer.

  3. Honestly now on No Such Thing As a Tax-Free Lunch At Google? · · Score: 1

What would the actual cost of tacking, enforcing and general day to day cost impact be of this? Would we "the people" actually come out ahead by making sure that we're getting paid our fair share for the meals employers provide? Does this apply to a restraint worker that gets free food because it would have been thrown out anyway?

How about google sells it at a loss and charges tax, can they then claim a write-off? it's a little far fetched to claim you tax dollars are going to support "their lunches", you just don't get to tax the employees wages twice.

Well I may be the odd ball out in that "this really could work" but not for a final or something that actually matters, but you could do it right at some points. Lets say you take a few prescriptive words of an event like what you input into an ad-lib then get the student to create the sentence structure around that. Sure there's probably about 10 problems you could think of off the bat that would make this infeasible. But what if it was just a practice mock-up before you took more advanced classes? Or as side assignments there's room for this in the junk assignments that are given out to make someone practice, practice, practice.

Its a long way off from replacing a teacher, and may never if you can't properly articulate life experience in a mechanism like this. It would be a constant effort to keep up with culture too. When does a tweet not refer to a bird? Or at what point does "I shot an elephant this morning, wearing my pajamas" refer to the zoo, africa or a picture being taken inside your apartment in Manhattan?

I seriously doubt the idea of Star trek will never exist, it was just our vision of it a long time ago in fact. We'll have to figure out what the exception to the rule is. To say there are and never will be any exceptions to the way things work a gorse over-statement of our relative understanding of the infinite nature that is our universe. For example if you could go faster than light how would you ever know accurately what you would crash into, your not seeing whats in front of you in real time. Even calculating a route would be useless as your just seeing things as they where progressively farther back in time.

We're still just learning about what we can't do yes, that's not to say we'll understand what we can. And never finding a good energy solution? That's just naive. Problems aren't problems because they're impossible to overcome, they're problems because you haven't discovered how to overcome the limitations they impose yet.

Except the fact that its much easier to be anonymous and "unaccounted for", and its a platform utilized by organizations that regularly present to little to no transparency or even acknowledgement that they exist. So people like you crack me up believing that everything is always OK just as long as it was an official action. A person by agency "X" flying a "weapons platform" over your neighborhood can inherently be trusted implicitly to only use this resource for "X". And of course if they crash into your house that's OK right? In fact if its just another weapons platform maybe we should get a few tanks to patrol around for our safety as well.
