perhaps I am missing something, but I never thought of "Hello World" as program. It is more or less a concept or an experiment I use to get my first grasp on a language or tool chain. It is constantly rewritten so that each time I use it, I gain a solid understanding of the basics of how to program in a specific instance. The author is simply applying this tool to assembly.
I've had video drivers for windows that were nearly as large as my entire Ubuntu install media. (well almost)
Sane driver support and out-of-the-box networking are the #1 & #2 reasons I enjoy linux installs and abhor windows installs.
I dont even have to mention product keys
I recently got a few new room mates, one of whom runs Windows 7. Since we all indulge in the occasional LAN game, we decided to try a little in-house frag fest. In every case, Windows 7 ran poorly or not at all as a game host. This was true for Civ4, UT2004, Neverwinter Nights, and Starcraft. Some games would not run at all, some simply would not allow the Windows 7 machine to host.
The solution?
Host the games on my XP box. Buttery smooth for all involved.
Now, since I was up till 4 am sniping, I need to go back to bed.
I have always found Newegg's customer support to be wonderful. I order about a thousand dollars worth of equipment from them a year. Like all companies, they make mistakes but customer service has always taken care of me.
Once I found a very cheap UPS for ~$20. When it arrives, I was dismayed to find it DOA and requested an RMA. Only problem was the shipping on that huge battery would be more then what I paid for the UPS. One quick email to Newegg and they sent me another, no questions asked.
Linux servers are named after the beer I was drinking when I did the install. BSD servers are named after the hard liquor I was drinking during the install.
Workstations are named after Renaissance painters that are not already ninja turtles.
FYI: the wrong end of a hot soldering iron feels wet in your hand before it feels hot. Just a heads up.
it's a trap!
good move

More like tax write-offs, deductions, offshore accounts and phantom headquarters. That's right. You, I, we are all fools.
I could not have put it more succinct myself

I understand that there is a species of lizard that feasts on this grass. Maybe that is an option.
And the introduce Chinese Needle Snakes when you're overrun with lizards, yes?
following the in their foot steps, we unleash wave after wave of gorilla to exterminate the snakes...

Now if only they would fix their paypal system...
I actually find it a complement when I'm kicked for "cheating" when I'm actually not :)
Same goes for when I am cheating and still get p0wned by much, much better players...
f'ckin a!
