  1. Test Driven Development on How To Get Out of Developer's Block? · · Score: 5, Insightful

I find test-driven development a great way to break out of the developers block. Just write a small test, the tiniest most trivial test that you can imagine. Now make it pass. And pretty soon you are back in the game.

  25. Re:hmmm, is there a missing party here? on How Can a Programmer Make Everyone Happy? · · Score: 1

Trying to please your boss will not help you. To find true success you must disconnect your actions from worldly consequences. You must stop desiring worldly fruits for your actions.

If you crave your boss's approval you will still not get it. It will just make you miserable. Plus you give him too much power over your soul.

Remember that you were created for a higher purpose. Remember that this life is just a (really well made) game in a virtual reality engine.

To find real fulfillment at work look for ways to improve your next life and to please Allah; because your reward in the next life is guaranteed. You can earn points for your next life in the following ways:

    1. Look for ways to help other people at work. Help other co-workers, customers. All of this will earn you points.

    2. Treat people with kindness and affection. Each incident translates to real points.

    3. Pray for success before every project.

    4. Donate a portion of your paycheck to charitable causes.

    5. Work to earn as many points as possible. Stay focused on the next life.
