I've been using it for about a month and love it. I love the price too, it's FREE as in somethingrather.. And it not only works with perl, but also with C++, PHP, Python, HTML.. and a ton more.. even text files look better!
I life in the SF Bay Area, but lived in L.A. before, and one thing I have found that is very true, this is something that was pointed out to me while I lived in L.A. by a friend of mine. In Southern California, they spend a lot of time hating Bay Area people, and they claim that the feeling is mutual. Having been raised here, I knew this was a false statement.
Well, now when I go to digg (which I have been doing for a few months), every chance someone gets to put down/. seems to be taken. They're always going on about how digg is just so much better.. and how/.ers hate digg.. umm.. grow up, no one hates you.. and yes, it is just you!!
While I am glad that Yahoo worked for you, let me tell you all/.'ers my story.
We start off by downloading their software to my gaming machine, since they do not support Linux. I went ahead and installed the software and proceeded to sign up for their Y! Unlimited. Forked out $59.88 for the yearly option (the $4.99 per month is only that price if you pay for the year in advance).
So then I start browsing their library, find a couple of songs I liked and wanted to actually purchase them. So I go ahead and purchase the songs for $.79 cents each (3 songs) and I see the system downloading the songs. Suddenly there's an error, it asks me if it should retry or cancel. Of course I tell it to retry.... this goes on about 15 times.. one of the other options is to contact customer support.. yes, that great redirection to a page where you are told that it might be up to 7 days before they get back to you...
I looked and looked all over the place for some sort of "quicker" tech support, finally found an email address and started working with them, one email a day.. 5 days later we still cannot get my system to download, or let alone play any individual songs on my system. I can listen to the radio stations on the site, but I cannot listen/download/purchase individual songs.. I am then refered to their billing department since it is obvious their service will not work on my machine, they of course need to verify all my information and again another day goes by. By the time I got a reply from them, it had been over 10 days I had been batling with this..
The email I received back from Yahoo's Music Service simply read "We are sorry, but we do not give refunds, as agreed to by you when you signed up for our service.".. nice...
So here I am, out $59.88, out $2.37 (3 songs), no music, no songs, no desire to ever do business with Yahoo again.
While I am glad the system worked for you, be careful of what you add to your computer.. if some software you need conflicts with your yahoo music system, then you're SOL..

Probably nobody uses DVD-Audio. The effort spent cracking the copy protection will be proportional to the popularity of the medium.
You are correct! Perfect example would be SCO Unix.. there hasn't been a bug in that system in years.. maybe because the only people still using it is the SCO Group...
You obviously did not take a look at their software and some of the presentations available on their site.
Let me just give you the one feature which I think makes this extremely useful:
1) The ability to highlight the area of a graph and paste it into a spreadsheet and having it show up as real data, not graphics.
Don't get me wrong. I'm a CLI type of guy, but the truth is that we live in a graphical world, and I get paid to provide users what they need to make their jobs easier.. I'm pretty sure this will help them.

There are no data that cannot be plotted on a straight line if the axis are chosen correctly.
I love that headline.. a patch to fix problems.. great.. I'll apply it to my marriage, my job, my car, my bank account (too little money could be a problem).. and I'll apply it twice to my teenage daughter for better results..
I knew eventually microsoft would do something right...
Pretty interesting topic you have chosen, and one that not many people even think about. I know that I have not thought about this, or at least, not in this sense.
As any normal individual, I have a certain level of stress in my life. Both at work with a boss that refuses to recognize my contributions, and at home dealing with the teenager of the house who refuses to accept my authority.. for the most part, I would say that the technology in my house (3 servers, 1 desktop and 1 laptop, all mine!@#!@$) relieves some of this stress and tension. I love to sit down in front of my computer and play xpatience or pacman after an argument, and at work, I love to spend my day reading/. of course.
So even though in these scenarios computers help relieve the stress, there are situations where the technology creates a lot more stress than we need, such is the case when things don't work as advertised.. or when that hardware keeps failing but you cannot duplicate it.. or maybe when no matter what you try, you can't get that program running/compiled..
So I would think that depending on the type of work that you do on your system, it is either a stress reliever or a stress source..

Don't get me wrong, I still have my two Linux and two OpenBSD boxes at home along with the obligatory windows boxes for the wife, daughter and gaming.. but you know what? I'd love to get my hands on one of them OS X boxes..
If you don't think I'm right.. that's your opinion.. but I know if I had OS X experience, I might be able to get a job Here!
