    I hear you! And data rates are stupendous - I use wireless which is more pricey, but only because I can't afford the line installation! Ironic no? We pay just over R500 for a 4G cap, that's about $65 a month. And that's on a special deal too! The public gets half the cap for that price.
    VOIP has my vote! *jumps around excitedly*

    A true paranoid schizo would've bombed out years ago at Gmail, and all the many other providers, for storing so many contacts and personal emails. In fact this is the opposite, as Wave is OSS. Check your alien implant it's probably acting up.

    Well said! But if it just appears self-aware, it's nothing more than a glorified Turing Test. What we need is real processing power to simulate real neuron interactions, and optionally real murderous tendencies like Skynet.

    Full disk encryption is what you want, http://www.truecrypt.org/ will do this for you. However, consider the overhead, and even as fast as TrueCrypt might be, Netbooks have only so many cycles to burn.

    Consider switching to Linux so that you won't need additional (read: expensive) malware/antivirus/crapware eating up the remaining cycles :) Try https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UNR

    My uncle is a pastor, he got so pulled in by my copy of Michio Kaku's Hyperspace that he used it as basis for a DVD he produced about religious origins. Sure it's not my bag, and that's another story, but I was impressed that he looks to logic in conjunction with his beliefs! - You're very right.

    Yes, radio was killed years ago here in ZA too, my ears bleed from it - and not the good kind of bleeding you want! Pandora also stopped serving countries outside US, it sucks ugly balls - but I'll still support them in this! Stick it to the man!

    The Pandora service stopped 1..2 years ago here in South Africa, and Last.fm in April this year - Not like we can afford the bandwidth in this place anymore...

    Offline: Tried many solutions, but none ever worked as well as my USB Disk! This is from years of habit though.
    Online: Personally, and given the resources, I would just host my own file server from home, for anywhere-anytime-access.

    Fair enough, but even wizard mode in Nethack has the after-effect that your character won't make it on the record file, ie no high score for you -- it was basically a testing & debug mode.
    And you're right! I don't find many new games fun anyway!
